Last week, I was asked if I knew Lisl Steiner. I shamefully had to say I did not know her. Coincidentally, I had been recently thinking I would like to know her. Well the universe delivered; as Alexa, Sally & James brought LISL to AKIKO’S Salon Sunday. I was star struck. If you do not know Lisl - she is the greatest photojournalist of our time - having photographed Castro and other dictators of her time. We photographed each other with our iPhones - she made my year with complimenting my aesthetic - particularly keen for Delphine Perlstein’s work. This last Salon Sunday was epic with a crowd of friends and collectors - including Seth Meyers who whispered to me - this is a really good crowd! More Salon Sunday’s are in the work flow and Claire McConaughy solo show is up next in May. Thanks to all who came out to celebrate Akiko and Red Fox.
