Custom gown by @moonmaiden_gothic_clothing

I ordered this beautiful gown for its comfort and THOSE SLEEVES, but had to add my own flair to it. The gold trim was added, as well as some embroidery and beading at the collar and at the point of the long train. I then designed and built a teal train on the bottom of the silk slip I planned to wear underneath. It added a pop of color but also the unreasonable length I love. Finger loops were added to the gown and slip, and it worked perfectly. Gold trim was added of course, and I even learned to use horsehair braiding to make the hem as dramatic as possible. I'm really pleased with how it came together.

These are just SOME of the handmade DIY stuff we put together for our wedding. The problem with having excellent nordic taste while being a disabled veteran on a tight budget is... you gotta roll up those sleeves if you want the right drip!

I hand painted 140 paper fans as functional favors (I have so many left over, omg) and even used them in the design of the place settings. The shields we made of cardboard and foam so they would be extremely comfortable to carry, and @the_mighty_fabio designed each one to represent the one carrying it. The foam "planks" even have wood whorls carved in by hand (hoo boy) to make it look real. The flowers we scattered on the tables were Sola wood flowers that we hand-dyed in buckets of paint. I wove special tablet belts of yarn for the groom's party, each with the symbolic colors chosen by him to represent his relationship with each. We made our own guestbook, and I developed my own unique #Futark styled font to hand-write each place card with reflective gold paint. I strung beads to make fibula broach jewelry with the AMAZING HELP of @tamaratargaryen for the wedding party. I made spears for my bridesguard, and made the head able to be detached with its bouquet for ease. I arranged my silk bouquet and added a little gold paint. I made a mossy little ring box as well.

This does not count the work on the dress...

I wish I had taken more pictures of the hall itself, but it was a lively affair, and I'll take that any day. The cakes were made by my brilliant sibling, and @thelegendofbarbie did the charcuterie TABLE. Not pictured, because we were feasting on it were 8 smoked pork shoulders in a sweet and savory rub variety. The mead was flowing, the fire was crackling... What a day. The decor was largely made by hand by me, and our friends and family helped us put it up. #wedding #love #forever #vikingwoman #howtotrainyourdragon #vikings #meadhall #costume #cosplay #knight #diy #larp #armstreet #renfaire #renaissancefaire by @redheaded.viking

What a wedding party...! #wedding #love #forever #vikingwoman #howtotrainyourdragon #vikings #meadhall #costume #cosplay #knight #diy #larp #armstreet #renfaire #renaissancefaire by @redheaded.viking

A viking and a knight finally wed. It was everything we could have asked for, and more. These are just a few of my favorites of the two of us, and I hope my tears and laughter tell all the story we need.

I love you more than anything, never stop dancing with me.

And some of my favorite selfies all season... My partner in crime and I on the last day of @michrenfest. That's a wrap. @knyaz_usa got to be a part of the joust for a large chunk of the season, and the guys had a blast. @the_mighty_fabio had a childhood dream come true, and while they were battered and bruised, I think they look forward to more next year. Thank you for being my partner and best friend through all these crazy adventures. Can't wait to stroll hand in hand again after nightfall at ORen. 🩵 #renaissancefestival #renfaire #queen #knight #redhead #cosplay #costuming #joust #medievalcombat #love #guinness by @redheaded.viking

And the final weekend of @michrenfest ... Back to the spooky Nordic Völva! I hand-painted the stave on my forehead. Pretty tricky with those scleras, but worth it! #vikings #vikingwoman #redhead #shaman #cosplay #costuming #spooky #makeupartist #warpaint by @redheaded.viking

I found a throne! A nice lady nearby kept telling me how beautifuli looked and how handsome my king looked while he took my photo. A lovely Sunday at @ohiorenfest 's field of battle, where the @cincinnati_barbarians play. Just two royal types taking a break with Sir Connor. #renaissancefestival #renfaire #cosplay #costuming #redhead #king #queen #pendragoncostumes @knyaz_usa by @redheaded.viking
