“There lay Lucy, seemingly just as we had seen her the night before her funeral. She was, if possible, more radiantly beautiful than ever, and I could not believe that she was dead. The lips were red, nay redder than before, and on the cheeks was a delicate bloom.”

I made this look on a whim, draping it and sewing it on myself, trying to forget for a second about perfection and completion.
I was doing my usual sewing as I just had this idea to recreate a look I saw myself in in a dream I had not so long ago, draping it on myself as Elsa Schiaparelli did the very first time she made a dress for herself, inspired by 1600 robes de chambre and 1800 high rise dressed, listening to Jessie Mazin putting my dream into music word by word, and as the desire came flowing I just couldn’t bare it anymore: who cares if it wouldn’t turn out perfect or if I wasn’t having a good body day or if the makeup wouldn’t turn right and my hair wouldn’t behave? Was this all ever about performance?
Child me dreamt of creating to finally put into reality the ideas that were constantly swarming in my head, so who cares. Perfectionism is really a form of ego.
My makeup was turning up crusty midway but it really was nothing that a bit of white shadow couldn’t fix, the dress wouldn’t behave, the fabric wasn’t the right colour, I have no moonlight or balcony setting, so what?
The result was still much better that what I immagined, but most importantly it exist into reality.
In these tough times of uncertainty, tonight I will end my day knowing that I made something that belongs to me. by @redmidnightmoon
