Election news alert! Had your drivers license updated lately? I had cataract surgery recently and went in to get the corrective lenses requirement removed (these are readers). They gave me, after DECADES of the same number, a NEW number. So now (and they did not tell me this!) I have to go to the elections office and update my DL # there or I won’t be able to vote next month! And I’m one of those people who always votes. 😡🤯😤 by @redmond_ann

We’re celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary a few days early with this stay at the historic Hotel Finse 1222. It’s located by the highest railway station in Norway with spectacular views all around. Fun fact is that when filming Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, this location was used as the ice planet Hoth. Our room and all the public spaces have photos from the early days at the hotel. We saw an extraordinary tapestry exhibit this morning: “the complete Åsmund Frægdagjeva series by textile artist Ragna Breivik is on display at Bryggens Museum, offering a rare opportunity to experience these remarkable works in atmospheric medieval surroundings. The tapestries were woven over a period of more than 25 years and are based on the medieval ballad of Åsmund Frægdagjeva, who rescues Princess Ermelin from the trolls of Trollebotn.”

This afternoon we visited Edvard Grieg’s house and grounds. He had a sweet little cabin overlooking the fjord. Then we rode up Bergen’s funicular for a gorgeous view of the city, and they have a troll forest! by @redmond_ann

We visited an open air history museum this morning, including houses from the 15th, 16th, and 17th c. People were shorter then! They also had a textile exhibit of woolen weavings, some rugs, wall hangings, furniture covers. Some tapestry and some loom controlled. Very cool museum. taken in Osterøy museum by @redmond_ann
