For World Mental Health Day, we’re proud to spotlight the many ways RBUSD supports students’ social-emotional well-being every day.

Across our schools, age-appropriate wellness spaces give students a place to pause, reset, recognize what they’re feeling and practice healthy ways to regulate. From calming corners and regulation stations to sensory break zones and dedicated wellness rooms, these spaces help students build skills they can carry with them far beyond the classroom.

Social-emotional learning is an important part of helping students feel supported, connected and ready to learn. On #WorldMentalHealthDay, we’re proud of the thoughtful work happening across RBUSD to make student well-being a priority. by @redondobeachusd

RUHS Club Rush gave students a chance to explore the many ways they can get involved on campus and find the communities that make high school feel a little more personal.

From service and culture clubs to special interests and student-led organizations, Club Rush showcased the many opportunities for Sea Hawks to connect, contribute, and belong. Getting involved is one of the best ways for students to build friendships, discover new passions, and feel more connected to their school community.

We love seeing RUHS students sharing their interests and helping one another find their place on campus. There truly is something for everyone at RUHS! by @redondobeachusd

Next week, RBUSD is proud to join school districts and community partners across the South Bay for United Against Hate Week. 💛

It’s an opportunity to reinforce something we want every student to know: You belong here. In our schools, we are committed to creating communities where students feel safe, valued and respected, and where kindness, inclusion and understanding are put into action every day.

Throughout the week, we’ll stand alongside our South Bay neighbors in promoting peace, love, inclusion and harmony and reminding one another that there is far more that connects us than divides us.

We hope our RBUSD families will join us in showing what it means to be United Against Hate.

🎉 RBUSD IS ON THE RISE! 🎉
The 2027 Niche rankings are out, and RBUSD has even more to celebrate this year!
⭐ #28 of 10,449 school districts in America
⭐ #5 in California
⭐ #4 in the Los Angeles area
⭐ Top 0.3% of school districts nationwide
⭐ A+ overall Niche grade
And that national ranking? We jumped 24 spots, from #52 last year to #28 this year! RBUSD also climbed five spots in California and one spot in the Los Angeles area.
Niche rankings consider academics, teacher quality, school resources, student and parent experiences, extracurricular opportunities, health and safety, and more.
As Superintendent Dr. Nicole Wesley shared, this achievement belongs to our entire RBUSD community. 💙💛 Our students, educators, staff, families, Board of Education, and community partners all play a part in making our schools places where students can learn, grow, connect, and thrive. by @redondobeachusd

As we wrap up Attendance Awareness Month, here’s an important reminder: every school day matters, even in the earliest years. 🏫

Regular attendance in preschool and pre-K helps children build the foundations they’ll carry with them into elementary school and beyond.

🧠 Brain development: About 90% of a child’s brain growth happens before kindergarten, making consistent learning experiences especially important.

📚 Academic foundations: Regular participation helps build early literacy, math and language skills.

🤝 Social-emotional growth: Daily classroom experiences help children practice sharing, emotional regulation, confidence and independence.

📅 Consistency counts: Missing just 10% of the school year, about two days each month, is considered chronic absence and can put students at greater risk of falling behind academically.

Thank you to our RBUSD families for making attendance a priority and helping our youngest learners build strong foundations for the future. by @redondobeachusd

It’s the small gestures that can make a big difference. 💙

At Parras Middle School, ASB students welcomed new-to-RBUSD students with thoughtful goodie bags filled with treats, handwritten notes of encouragement, helpful campus information, an invitation to a special new-student tutorial, and even a fall carnival coupon.

We’re especially proud of moments like these across RBUSD, when students go out of their way to help others feel seen, supported, and included.

This is a great example of student leadership through service. 💙 by @redondobeachusd
