Why are there so many fans of the Red Prince apple? Our Canadian grown apple has a crisp, juicy bite and a tangy-sweet flavour. Our unique cellaring process results in an apple with depth, character, and a flavour worth savouring. Canadians love to eat Red Prince apples as a snack, just as much as they enjoy juicing, baking and cooking with it. 🍎 It really is a special, all-purpose apple!

Happy Thanksgiving! 🍎🍂 Today, we’re grateful for family, traditions, and the people who help carry them forward. Irma and Marius Botden brought their fruit-growing experience from the Netherlands to Canada, where they became the exclusive growers of Red Prince apples.

Today, the next generation, and the next- are growing up among the orchards, learning the seasons, the work, and the traditions that have shaped our family business.

Some recipes are more than just a family favourite... they’re a tradition. 🍎🥧
Irma Botden’s Red Prince Apple Crumble Pie has been a beloved treat in the Botden family, traditionally enjoyed with evening coffee or shared over a relaxed Sunday morning.
With tender apples, warm cinnamon, sweet raisins, and a buttery crumble crust, it’s the kind of homemade baking that feels right at home this time of year.
Whether you’re planning a Thanksgiving gathering or enjoying a cozy afternoon at home, this family recipe is worth saving for your next baking day. ❤️

Who's this in the orchard? This is the third generation of dedicated family apple growers watching over our Red Prince apples! The Botden family moved to Canada from the Netherlands in 2001 and originally established Red Prince apple orchards in Ontario. They have since developed the business to become a fully integrated operation, as a grower/packer/shipper, and have extended growing into Quebec and Nova Scotia through agreements with other committed growers. The orchard is buzzing... our Red Prince harvest has officially begun! 🍎🍂
After a full season of sunshine, rain, and meticulous orchard management, our premium apples are carefully hand picked - capturing that signature deep red colour we look forward to every fall.
But harvest is only the beginning! From here, the apples will continue their journey into storage which allows the distinctive Red Prince flavour and bite to develop in time for the next season to begin in January.

Fall = apple harvest season in Canada, BUT the Red Prince journey is just getting started! 🍎🍂
Red Prince apples are harvested in the fall and carefully stored for several months, allowing them to fully develop their robust, tangy-sweet flavour.
It’s similar to how wine is cellared to mature. So, while our harvest happens in the fall, we'll all have to wait until January to rediscover the crisp, juicy bite of a Red Prince apple. 🍎

What makes Red Prince apples different? 🍎
Red Prince apples are harvested in the fall, then carefully cellared for several months. This extra time allows their distinctive tangy-sweet flavour to fully develop.
And when January arrives, a new Red Prince season begins, bringing that crisp, flavourful apple to tables when many other locally grown apples are no longer available.

Grown with care right here in Canada. Red Prince apples are grown using thoughtful orchard practices designed to support healthy trees and quality fruit.
From high-density orchards and precision planting to drip irrigation that delivers water and nutrients, every part of the growing process is considered.
It all starts in the orchard, and it takes a lot of care to grow an apple we're proud to share.

Did you know Red Prince apples are harvested in the fall like regular apples but come to market fresh in January? 🍎
After harvest, Red Prince apples are carefully stored for several months, allowing their distinctive tangy-sweet flavour to fully develop.
Much like wine, a little time in the cellar helps bring out their best. 🍎They are delivered to grocery stores across Canada when their taste is at its peak!
