I awoke to the unfathomable news today - like many other music fans - that the incomparable troubador #glenhansard died in a motorcycle accident in Dublin earlier this morning. He was 56.

Like many of you, I too, am devastated and in shock. I’m grateful to have experienced his exuberant personality and live performances in person nearly a dozen times over the past 20 years.

I’m at a loss for words, so I’ll quote another one of my favorite artists, @basquiatofficial ~ “Art is how we decorate space, music is how we decorate time.”

I am reminded of the latter half of that statement today. You see, 2024 was one of the best and worst years of my life and Glen’s music served as a major part of its soundtrack. I got to see him open for #pearljam and their “Dark Matter” tour 5 times!

I’ll be forever appreciative of Patrick Glennon Photography @ptgphotos for recording and posting this video of Eddie Vedder and Glen’s duet “Song of Good Hope,” from their Night 2 show at Madison Square Garden. I had never heard this before and as of 9/4/2024 (and today 7/29/26) I’ll never forget it.

When I saw it online the next day I wrote this through tears: “I don’t think I’ve ever been more emotionally touched by a song at a more necessary time in life. I have lost 8 organs since [last] June and am hopefully going to beat breast cancer. I unexpectedly turned into a puddle on the MSG floor as tears rolled down my face and my concert buddy Kristen clenched my hand. It’s moments like this (and last night) that keep me and so many other people going. Thank you so much! I can’t wait to rock out for the next 5 shows. THANK YOU!! 😊 🙌🏻✨”

That song and PJ’s “Wreckage” became my anthems and legitimately got me through one of the darkest times of my life. When words fail music speaks.

My deepest condolences to his family and all those affected by this brilliant light snuffed out too soon.

Malawi celebrated its 62nd anniversary of their liberation from British colonial rule on 7/6. 🇲🇼

It’s hard to believe I turned 28 there 18 years ago.

Here’s a shot of me in front of the @peacecorpsmalawi main office in Lilongwe in November of 2008.

The country known as the “warm heart of Africa,”had to sadly forego celebrations this year, citing the need to redirect resources to economic recovery.

July_03_2026 — #heatwave got me feeling like … SPLAT 🫠🥵

I had plans today but had to cancel them to prirotize my health. Grateful to have AC, electricity, a roof over my head, friends who kept me laughing, and the ability to know what my body can and cannot handle these days. July_02_2026 — #tbt #hope Monk Stye (2 of 2)

I awoke to the news that nine Buddhist monks were killed and several others in their procession injured when they were hit by an 11-year-old boy driving his parents’ pickup truck in north-east Thailand.

That frigid day back in February when the #monksforpeace made a surprise last stop in Annapolis seems so long ago - almost another lifetime. And with getting the news today - one of the hottest this year - seems an odd juxtaposition.

Time is a strange thing. Hope and grief are too. So many loaded four-letter words. My deepest condolences go out to all affected. Life is precious. 🙏📿🪷✨ #throwbackthursday taken in Annapolis, Maryland by @redtesssanchez

This morning I awoke to the news that nine Buddhist monks were killed and several others in their procession injured when they were hit by an 11-year-old boy driving his parents’ pickup truck in north-east Thailand.

It immediately brought me back to February of this year when I experienced the #monksforpeace in person in Annapolis. I have quite a bit of footage from that morning, but this clip where Venerable Bhikkhu Pannakara speaks about hope and mindfulness really resonated then and even more so today. I tend to get pretty introspective around my birthday and this week is no different.

June_04_2026 — #tbt to about 2 weeks ago…

I was lucky enough to see the first of two #miked 5D shows at @xanadu.nyc roller rink in Brooklyn on Friday, May 22.

“So What’cha Want” was the last track they played off a 12-song setlist (which I got a copy of and later got signed!). It was released 34 years ago this past Tuesday (6/2), as the second single from their third studio album, Check Your Head. Happy 34th anniversary!

Mike D just played a sold out show in North Shields England and has a couple in London this weekend. His new material is definitely worth a listen.

I’ve been out of commission since then, but I’m back and want to share some footage from that surreal night! Please pardon my ecstatic exclamations — it was insane seeing him so close. January_31_2026 — I haven't been able to cry much since the news last Saturday. I was worried I was becoming desensitized and tapped out of emotion, but the floodgates opened last night at the end of a long day and even longer week. I cried because the earth lost a bright light in #catherineohara - an actress & comedian who gave me and so many others joy.

I saw this during my first of several viewings of the Schitt’s Creek series. It was long before my health journey began and I had all my original parts. Some heavy anniversaries are coming up and this, by far, is one of the best pieces of advice I’ve received from “mom,” -aka Moira, Sally, Delia… Take as many naked pictures as you can. You are so damn beautiful and one day you might lose said parts before you grow old. It's been such a gift to be able to have the portraits I shot. There's even an empowering boudoir shoot my friend Stacey at @atomiccheesecake took too (and I'm finally ready to look at them). 💓💓💓 Thank you, Mrs. O’Hara, RIP. taken in Schitt's Creek Motel by @redtesssanchez
