@redtosuni is a visual artist who currently lives and works in Tirana. His work focuses on memory, inheritance, and ritual, unfolding in a present suspended between a past not fully settled and a future not yet formed, explored through painting, installation, sound, and performance.

Tosuni is a member of Stray Stars Residence and Shok Collective. His work has been exhibited in Albania and abroad, including Agimi Art Center (2023), Boulevard Art and Media Institute (2024), Tirana Art Weekend (2025), Tulla Culture Center (2025), Mara Projects (London, 2026), and Bazament Art Space (2026). by @redtosuni

With his work 𝑺𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝑭𝒍𝒐𝒘, presented in 𝑪𝒖𝒓𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒔, 𝑹𝒆𝒏𝒊𝒅 𝑻𝒐𝒔𝒖𝒏𝒊 explores the relationship between body, rhythm, and water through paintings and a performance based on the act of watering. This everyday action transforms into a ritual of attention, where time softens and the body enters a state of flow.

As in the lines written by the artist himself, “Every day I’d stare into a bucket of water… I’d look until I disappeared and met myself again,” water appears as a surface for reflection and temporary self-erasure. In the act of watering, the gaze, the movement of the hand, and the flow of water merge into a process in which the self disperses and re-forms.

From this experience, the paintings emerge as traces of an ongoing relationship with water, not as an object, but as a process and embodied memory. The watering performance functions as an act of care, opening a reflection on our connection to nature and on how daily, repeated attention can become a form of knowing and a return to the self.

Me punën e tij 𝑺𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝑭𝒍𝒐𝒘, e prezantuar në 𝑪𝒖𝒓𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒔, 𝑹𝒆𝒏𝒊𝒅 𝑻𝒐𝒔𝒖𝒏𝒊 eksploron marrëdhënien mes trupit, ritmit dhe ujit përmes pikturave dhe një performance të bazuar në aktin e ujitjes. Ky veprim i përditshëm shndërrohet në një ritual vëmendjeje, ku koha zbutet dhe trupi hyn në një gjendje rrjedhjeje.

Ashtu si në vargjet e shkruara nga vetë artisti “Every day I’d stare into a bucket of water… “I’d look until I disappeared and met myself again”, uji shfaqet si sipërfaqe reflektimi dhe humbjeje e përkohshme e vetes. Në aktin e ujitjes, shikimi, lëvizja e dorës dhe rrjedha e ujit bashkohen në një proces ku subjekti shpërndahet dhe riformohet.

Nga kjo përvojë lindin pikturat, si gjurmë të një marrëdhënieje të vazhdueshme me ujin, jo si objekt, por si proces dhe kujtesë trupore. Performanca e ujitjes funksionon si një akt përkujdesjeje, duke hapur një reflektim mbi lidhjen tonë me natyrën dhe mbi mënyrën se si vëmendja, përsëritur çdo ditë, mund të bëhet formë njohjeje dhe rikthimi tek vetja.
