Happy 74th Birthday to my amazing momma! ❤️

She has spent her life putting everyone else before herself. She is a serial volunteer, always the first to show up, always ready to help, and a woman whose faith has guided her through it all.

Growing up, I never had to wonder if I was loved. I knew it, I felt it. And I realize more and more what a gift that was, one that Jay and I have tried to pass onto our boys.

We are so lucky to have you, Momma. Thank you for being the heart of our family and for showing us what selfless love looks like.

Today, we left a piece of our heart’s at college. ❤️

And somehow, 18 years went by in the blink of an eye.

There’s a moment in parenting when you realize you’re no longer raising a little boy, you’re standing beside a young man who is ready to go find his own way.

And what an incredible feeling that is. The pride is overwhelming.

Proud of his kind heart.
Proud of the way he thinks.
Proud of his curiosity, creativity, determination, and the way he throws himself into the things he loves.
Proud of the person he is when nobody is watching.

Mostly, proud that after all these years of trying to give him the tools to find his way, he’s walking into this next chapter with everything he needs.

A strong internal compass, a million possibilities in front of him, and an entire lifetime waiting to be discovered.

Today wasn’t really about leaving him at college. It was about realizing that somehow, we did it. We raised a boy who’s become the most amazing man.

And while my momma heart will always see the little boy in him, I couldn’t be more proud of the young man standing in front of me.

Here’s to the next adventure, Baby Boy. ❤️

It was a big day for both boys! Started the day in Peoria at the IESA State Track Meet for Lach, which led to a new PR: 2:11 👏🏻. Ended the day with Liam's high school graduation from NCHS! Both are ready to move onto the next chapters in their lives, NCHS for Lach 🧡🖤 and ISU for Liam.❤️🖤 by @reduff922

The kid did it…he’s headed to State. And this one means more than a medal.

Last year, Lach ended his season at the AAU Junior Olympics after an incredible track year. Momentum was high. Expectations were high. Everything pointed up.

Then came late fall. Two broken bones. Crutches. Cross country season over the day of Sectionals.

Physically, he healed. Mentally, it was harder.

Winter training barely happened. Even after being cleared, it was always, “I’ll start tomorrow.” But tomorrow kept moving. Not because he didn’t care. Not because he wasn’t motivated.

He was scared.

Scared of getting hurt again.
Scared he wouldn’t be the same runner.
Scared of the expectations.
Scared of the comments.

And when tryouts came, so did the noise he feared most.

But this story was never just about 8th grade track.

It was about resilience. Confidence. Identity. Learning that courage isn’t the absence of fear, it’s deciding to move anyway.

Little by little, second by second, inch by inch, Lach took his power back.

Last night, it paid off. He faced the fear. Tuned out the noise. Trusted himself again.

And then he did what he does best…

As we quickly approach Liam’s high school graduation in May, cue tears, discussions about his future are almost a daily occurrence. He has two paths in front of him, that at first glance, might make you scratch your head…they certainly did for us. Does he stay the course and proceed with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and his love for solving problems or does he follow his heart with a much heftier price tag and less stability to pursue a degree in Film. Both allow him to be creative and innovative which allows him to thrive. We’ve challenged him to think of ways he could do both.

Today he competed and won 1st place in a regional STEM competition…next stop UW- Madison…with his Engineering skills on point but his creativity with his video sealing his trophy.
