Giovanni Strazza’s Bust, finally completed! ✝️

I’m truly proud of this piece. It’s the first artwork I’ve created with real focus and genuine aesthetic ambition in… about four years. Wow.

This period of my life was marked by a major art block and many personal struggles. It made me stop drawing. I focused on other things, and I grew a lot. Knowledge. Hard work. Discipline. Isolation. Frustration. I think I can say it now: a deep sadness in life. But I also gained clarity.

This pain taught me one essential thing: never lose myself for social or familial expectations. I am meant for art. I’ve always known it. And I will never stop again.

To my old friends, thank you for always being there. To the more recent ones, and to everyone discovering this account: thank you. You have no idea how much your presence helps me.

This marble bust is a masterpiece of illusion — the veil becomes flesh, the stone breathes.
In my drawing, I explore the dialogue between transparency and devotion, body and spirit.

(Apparemment cette citation très instagrammable vient d'elle. Mais par pitié, ne m'appelez jamais à 4h du mat 🤣)

Marlène Dietrich (1901–1992)

Une femme traversée par de multiples métamorphoses, toutes plus fascinantes les unes les autres. Elle incarne encore aujourd'hui une figure mythique du cinéma et de la scène, icône dont l’ombre élégante plane encore sur les imaginaires contemporains...

Ele débute dans les cabarets et le cinéma muet allemand, mais c’est avec "L’Ange bleu" (1930) qu’elle accède à la célébrité internationale.

Peu après, elle s’installe à Hollywood et devient une star grâce à "Morocco" (1930), où elle embrasse une femme en smoking à la George Sand (oui, comme cette dernière, elle est une des pionnières de l’androgynie!).

Pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale, Dietrich rejette le régime nazi avec une fermeté exemplaire. Elle devient citoyenne américaine, chante pour les troupes alliées sur le front.

Dans les années 70, elle se retire progressivement de la scène publique, choisissant de vivre recluse à Paris, dans un appartement feutré où elle préserve son image comme un secret sacré. Elle s’éteint en 1992, laissant derrière elle une légende intacte.

On se souvient d'elle pour sa maîtrise polyglote : l’allemand, l’anglais et le français, annotait ses livres avec une rigueur presque universitaire, et remplissait les marges de réflexions philosophiques et politiques. Une intellectuelle cachée derrière le glamour.

Jean Gabin, Edith Piaf, Ernest Hemingway, JFK… Sa vie sentimentale fut aussi libre et palpitante. Lire des biographies sur elle en valent la chandelle, j'en suis convaincue ! taken in Paris, France by @reealistique

HII EVERYONE!!

After literally 1000 YEARS, I'm finally back here to post something 🙌. 2023's been an EXTREMLY weird and intense year for me and thus it limited hugely my productivity here. Actually, I continued to draw but just didn't post because i was convinced it was not good enough and blablablabla (classic story of the "perfectionnist depressive artist who is also a student feeling stucked in this corrupted World" you get it 🤣)

HOWEVER !

I will try, REALLY try, to be productive in the end of this year and obviously, of course, undoubtedly, UNQUESTIONNABLY for 2024! 🙌🙌

A big thank you for all the people who still followed me and supported me despite my absence 🙏 it's Amazing to have such a community like this 😊. And thank you for all the people I had the chance to meet this year and became close with in this wonderful Platform! THANK YOU!!
