⚾️ The R.A.N.G.E.R.S. ⚾️

Where do I even begin? We had no practice heading into our first game today, and these kids went out there and did an absolutely amazing job! They already knew the ready position, how to hold the bat, how to throw, and how to go after the ball. I was truly impressed.

In the words of Allen Iverson, “We’re talking about practice?” 😂 Well, apparently these Rangers were ready without it!

When I tell you they showed up and did their thing, I mean it. We’ve got hitters, catchers, and throwers all across this team. The effort, energy, and teamwork they displayed today was incredible, and it has me excited for what this season will bring.

I’m proud of every single player and grateful to be a part of their growth and success. This is just the beginning, and I know we’re going to have a great season together.

Dear Kynnedy,

I’m not even sure where to start, because I’m always proud of you. To some people, this may “just” be an 8th grade dance, but to me and your mom, this moment means so much more. It was important for us to celebrate you with family and friends the people who truly love you, appreciate you, and see the value you bring into every room you walk into.

It’s honestly hard for me to believe you’re already approaching 9th grade. Time is moving fast, and watching you grow into the young lady you are today has been one of the greatest blessings of my life. You are smart, brilliant, strong, beautiful, and an amazing athlete but beyond all of that, you have an incredible heart and spirit.

You continue to push yourself academically, keep your grades up, make Honor Society, and receive recognition from people and organizations that see your greatness too. Even receiving letters from leaders like Governor and President Barack Obama says a lot about the impact you’re already making at such a young age.

You’ve become one of the most valuable people not only within our family, but also to others who look up to you. Never forget that. Continue being great, continue believing in yourself, and continue walking with confidence, humility, and purpose.

As you step into high school, I truly believe you are going to do amazing things. No matter how old you get, I’ll always be proud to call you my daughter.

Dear Kynnedy

A Note I Always Want You To Remember

Kynnedy Raye, my baby, you are truly important to me. The growth you’ve shown in school and on the cheer floor amazes me every day. You make me feel like one of the best dads in the world.

I never knew cheerleading would become your thing, and I’m thankful to Mommy for introducing it to you. When I watch you perform on that floor, I get butterflies and weak in the knees thinking, “Wow… that’s my daughter.”

Your beginning is just as important as your finish, and your journey is far from over. I want to thank all the coaches and supporters who have been a part of Kynnedy’s journey and helped her grow along the way.

Most importantly, I thank God for blessing us with such an amazing, smart, strong, and beautiful young Black young lady.

Kynnedy, it’s your world go out there and make the very best of it.
