My third stop during LVMH’s Les Journées Particulières, @maisonfranciskurkdjian , left me with an appreciation that goes far beyond fragrance.

When protests erupted outside the windows, the team went above and beyond to keep us safe. They gathered us on the seventh floor, offering tea, beverages, snacks, and a reassuring sense of care amid the uncertainty. Francis Kurkdjian himself came to assure us that our safety was their number one priority.

We were welcomed that day as visitors, with no purchase required or expected. Yet we received something invaluable: their attention, compassion, and commitment to our well-being.

As someone who deeply values gracious hospitality, I will remember how you made us feel. Thank you, Monsieur Kurkdjian and the entire Maison team, for showing that the care a house extends to people is as meaningful as anything it creates. 🤍

Last week, as I strolled through Notre-Dame in Paris, seeing Pope Leo XIV’s image made me smile. As someone who calls Chicago home, there was something special about that connection—a little hometown pride in such a magnificent, sacred space.

Now, hearing of his lung cancer diagnosis, I’m holding him in prayer and wishing him comfort, strength, and healing.

Moments like this remind me that etiquette extends far beyond introductions and table manners. It lives in how we respond to another person’s vulnerability: with compassion, respect for privacy, and restraint in our words. A diagnosis should never become an invitation for speculation, blame, or unsolicited medical advice.

Whether someone leads a church or lives quietly next door, their humanity deserves our care. May we offer grace generously. 🤍

National Curves Day: a little etiquette lesson 💛

For decades, my body has gone up, down, and back again. Through stress, joy, grief, medication, new seasons of life. And through every single change, someone felt entitled to say something about it.

“You’ve lost weight! You look sick!” (I was not.) “Have you put on a few pounds?” (Yes. I also survived a very hard year.) “You have such a pretty face.” (…and?)

So today, let’s talk manners:

✨ Don’t comment on someone’s weight. Not gain, not loss. You never know the story behind it. It is okay to say someone looks amazing without referencing their weight. ✨ Compliment things people choose. Their laugh, their style, their ideas, their kindness., their glow!
✨ Skip the food commentary. What’s on someone’s plate is not your business. ✨ Don’t assume health from size. Bodies don’t come with a status bar. ✨ If you’re unsure, say nothing. “It’s so good to see you” works every time.

Curves, no curves, more curves than last year: every body deserves to show up without being reviewed.

Celebrate yours today. And let everyone else celebrate theirs in peace. 🌸

In a city I adore, I spent most of today in bed. Paris was beautiful outside my window, and I was… asleep.

When I wasn’t sleeping, I was feeling guilty about all the beauty I wasn’t out enjoying. Surely I should be strolling, exploring, savoring something wonderful.

But my body spoke, and I listened.

Today, savoring meant surrendering to rest. Giving myself the same grace I so often encourage others to embrace.

Even in Paris, I am allowed to pause. The city I love deserves my curiosity, and the body that carries me through it deserves my care. 🤍

Started the day at the @fondationlv , wandering through the galleries and out onto the terraces under those huge glass sails.

Gehry’s building is a work of art and instantly reminded me of Chicago’s Pritzker Music Pavilion, which he also designed. It even has Eiffel Tower views!

Then a slow lunch outside at a little café nearby: sunshine, a glass of something cold, and nowhere to be. Autumn in Paris doesn’t get much better than this. 🍂🥐

A little champagne in my glass, a little in my gown. 🥂✨

For dinner at Moët & Chandon’s Trianon in Épernay, I wore an @etochs dress in a green-yellow champagne hue, bringing soft retro glamour and light, fluid movement to an evening steeped in elegance. It caught the cellar’s amber light with a soft, sepia glow.

With every step, the dress offered a gentle swish—a touch of whimsy for a night worth savoring.

Some evenings deserve to be savored long after the last glass. 🥂✨

Last night, at Moët & Chandon’s historic Trianon mansion in Épernay, France, I joined guests from around the globe for an intimate evening of heritage, hospitality, and extraordinary dining. After almost 200 years of private celebrations, I was part of the first public group welcomed to its table.

We began with the Maison’s 280th-anniversary exhibition and storied cellars before crossing Avenue de Champagne for dinner.

Michelin-starred chef Jean-Michel Bardet’s five-course menu was beautifully paired with exceptional champagnes, including Collection Impériale Création No. 1. Every detail reflected thoughtful craftsmanship and best in class service. 10/10 💯

My first day back in Paris began with the lovely ritual of settling in. A plant and fresh flowers to brighten my space, a visit to my favorite pharmacy for beauty and wellness essentials, and time to savor something delicious. 🌿💐

Then, the Eiffel Tower welcomed me back, lending a little grandeur to a day of simple pleasures.

There is grace in making yourself at home: bringing beauty into your surroundings, tending to your well-being, and giving yourself permission to enjoy where you are.
