We have reached the End of the Line when it comes to my favourite outdoor carboot sale. Last one today and whilst it was a bit damp and overcast there were still some treasures waiting be found. Picked up some complete Sega Megadrive games in really nice condition for £3 each as well as some complete loose NECA movie Turtles for the same price. A very sharp Megadrive poster was included too. There was a decent looking boxed SNES there as well, but not quite at the right price for me. Some other bits of vintage lying around too, including diecast, Masters of the Universe, Defenders of the Earth, Thundercats and Biker Mice from Mars (see the pics). Going to have to find another way to fill some of my Sunday mornings/afternoons now! #teenagemutantninjaturtles #carbootsale #vintagetoys #segamegadrive #retrogaming by @reedster2025

A selection of photos from yesterday’s epic late win against Torreense. Not a good performance but if you can win when playing badly that is usually a good sign. The march to European glory continues unchecked as yet…shall we book Frankfurt just in case? Driving to Villamoura now to hunt down some pink port. #sunderlandafc #safc #europaleague #football #portugal taken in Leira, Leiria, Portugal by @reedster2025

Leg 2 of the journey. Arrived in Faro early this morning with a lot of other Sunderland supporters around, straight into a hire car to bomb up to Lisbon, and now settling into our home on the water for the next 2 days. #sunderland #sunderlandafc #safc #europaleague #awaydays taken in Lisbon, Portugal by @reedster2025

Driving through the night to Luton. Flying to Faro. Driving up to Lisbon to stay on a houseboat. Coach to Leiria for the match - all to keep the cost under £250. Hopefully it will all be worth it and we see the Lads take another step towards European Glory! #sunderland #sunderlandafc #safc #europaleague #football taken in London Luton Airport by @reedster2025

Another one of my recent ASM purchases - number 53 from 11 July 1967 (cover date of October that year). Great Romita artwork and Stan Lee story. This story contains a flashback to the fabulous Amazing Spiderman number 33, leads to the next issue where Doc Ock moves in with Aunt May(!), and features the first official date between Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy. Bit of a rivalry on show between Gwen Stacy and Mary Jane too although Gwen definitely had the upper hand at this point. That would all change in the decades to come. #spiderman #amazingspiderman #igcomicbookcommunity #silveragecomics #gwenstacy taken in New York City by @reedster2025

Second to last Bootsale of the year today: a lovely day but slim pickings on the bargain hunting front. Picked up what I think is a Toybiz Marvel Legends Punisher, Brian Lara Cricket on the Sega Megadrive, and a WCW annual from 2000 (all shown towards the end). One more to go until Sundays take a turn for the worse… #carbootsale #wcw #marvellegends #sega #pokemoncards taken in Seaham car boot sale by @reedster2025

Hearing a lot about ‘Freshers Flu’ recently from those family members lucky enough to still be at University. In May 1970 (cover date of August 1970) Marvel warned against the dangers of overreacting: Peter Parker got a dose and thought he was either losing his Spidey powers or dying! He confessed his secret identity to his friends only to have to find a way to retract his confession a day or two later when he made a miraculous recovery. Been picking up a few ASM comics recently, including a bundle with this one, 53, 78, 92 and 99. Which would people like to see next? Or should I stick to DC?! #amazingspiderman #igcomicfamily #silveragecomics #comics #flu taken in New York City by @reedster2025

Had to highlight this piece from yesterday’s @northerntoyfairs fair (see my first post from yesterday). A graded ‘Leo Toys’ Prince Adam, manufactured in India in either 1981 or 1982. Never seen one of these before. Very different to the US and UK releases: look at the belt and the head. Think I prefer the one we all remember and a lot us still have, but these international variants are intriguing pieces of history nonetheless. #mastersoftheuniverse #heman #motu #vintagetoys #rare taken in Gateshead International Stadium by @reedster2025

Very enjoyable event last night at the @firestationsun for what I think is an annual showcase of local talent for the @chloeandliam24t For those who don’t know, Chloe and Liam were a young couple who tragically lost their lives at Manchester Arena during the attack on an Ariana Grande concert. Some scary talent was on show last night, including from boys and girls only about knee high, and all compered with good humour by @davidjohnhopper My son was in the Les Mis bit by @artsnorthstudios hence the choice of track! Well done to all concerned. Onwards and upwards - Excelsior! #chloeandliam #chloeandliamtogetherforevertrust #arianagrande #sunderland #southshields taken in The Fire Station by @reedster2025

My most marriage threatening purchase from today’s Gateshead Toy Fair - and another of my personal grails ticked off - a Kenner Super Powers Hall of Justice. As a significant added bonus this is in pretty beautiful condition and is still FACTORY SEALED. Like many of today’s most keen gamers the contents of this are untouched by human hand (since 1984 anyway). Paid a fraction of what this is worth as the seller was heading back to Seattle in the US and didn’t want to spend the cash to ship this over there with him. It had to be sold today = a deal to be done. Never imagined I would own this in any shape or form. To get a sealed one a at a bargain price just proves that ‘if you don’t look you don’t find’. Might be time for another ‘Hall of Grails’ update! Been making some decent progress on them in recent week. #dccomics #batman #superman #kennersuperpowers #vintagetoys taken in Gateshead International Stadium by @reedster2025
