Today on Reed’s Bar Photos©, it’s two Absolute Monster Gentlemen. I’ve been out for the past couple weeks filling in as tour manager for @jonclearymusic and tonight we’re wrapping it in Minneapolis at the Minnesota State Fair with the 🐐 @bonnieraittofficial. We closed down the hotel bar last night with lots of laughs and stories.

These two right here— Jon and Cornell— have been playing together for 30 years or so. Imagine that! I really admire it. You gain a real appreciation for this special partnership when you travel alongside them and hang with them. These are two great people in a great band, joined by two other greats @tg_drums and @pedrosegundoofficial… and I will miss them…. until October, when we run it back for the west coast. taken in InterContinental Saint Paul Riverfront by @reedtwatson

So many of you have asked, so I’m happy to present a formal schedule for this Friday’s “wedding reception” here in New Orleans at Markey’s.

I will reiterate some points:

1. We’re looking at 110+ heat indexes… no dress code. Dare to wear shorts, should you want to truly live the Bywater Lifestyle.

2. I know you are all stubborn, but we don’t want gifts. Your presence is your present. For a lot of y’all, travel ain’t easy.

3. I will find out who tipped well and who didn’t. Don’t be a bad tipper. We love our Markey’s bartenders.

4. If you are a vegetarian (Elle!) we will have cheese plates, etc. Food for the evening contains chicken, sausage and shrimp. It’s more authentic than an episode of Treme. Way more. If you have dietary restrictions beyond that, maybe grab dinner beforehand… and accept my apologies.

FINALLY— IF YOU ARRIVING EARLY IN THE WEEK OR LEAVING LATER THAN THE FOLLOWING MORNING, LET ME KNOW! I want to get as much time with everyone as possible. I love y’all. Thank you for being here!

In my official second act as a dual-national, I took “muh wyyfe” to the WORLD CUP. This is serious bucket list stuff for both of us and we’ve been planning this trip for months. To my amazement, about 5000 absolutely mental Aussies were doing the same thing. Even at a 0-0 draw and the 2nd lowest xG of a Cup game in a generation… it exceeded expectations.

1. @elle_hardy was smart. She brought her @victoriabitter jumper.
2. Better seats than the 2018 National Championship, that’s for sure
3. Proof! She works on vacation! Even in the pub!
4. And sometimes she doesn’t.
5. I saw about 500 of these
6. The march in. I was stunned at the amount of fans that made the trip!
7. Just look at that!!
8. This was followed by men pouring beer in their shoes and chugging it
9. National anthems
10. My debut appearance on @abcnews_au

My first action as a duel-national is to root for the Socceroos. Tough one today, but we’re heading to San Francisco to see them next week. I handed out Tim Tams to everyone at Markey’s, so all was not lost. Sports are the greatest!!!! by @reedtwatson

Many of you have asked. “Did you *really* get married in a drive-thru?” “A pink Cadillac? Really?” “Was this really a surprise?” “Is Elle sure of what she’s doing?” All are valid questions.

Yes is the answer to all of these questions. Here are some professional photos to prove it. Then, at the end, my favorite photo of the entire affair— mostly because E looks like a complete boss and we both have this smug look of satisfaction.

“Did we just pull this off?” Yes, we did. For our next feat, join us in New Orleans on July 31. Invites are coming in the mail and digitally. Have you been trying to contact us this week? Well, sorry. We’ve been a little out of pocket negotiating a profound new development in Australian/American relations. 🇦🇺❤️🇺🇸 
Yes, you heard correctly: we snuck off to Las Vegas and got married in a pink Cadillac in a drive-thru chapel yesterday, May 27th. Following that, a stretch limo took us on a tiki bar crawl, ending with dinner with a view of the Bellagio fountains. Everyone on the route got commemorative poker chips— and don’t worry, you will get one, too!  We are working on planning receptions in both New Orleans and Sydney, and you can expect to get some mail from us, soon. We are grateful for all of our wonderful friends and family all around the world and all the love and support we have always received from them.   Our cat Irma was so excited at the news that she ran into the house and knocked over a stool, which we have on security camera footage and will share soon. Yes, we also hired a photographer and will have real photos to share ASAP.   While Elle is negotiating a green card, we will be celebrating with a domestic honeymoon to the World Cup— yet another stop on this whirlwind journey that started at the Chart Room in New Orleans and continues to surprise and delight us in a million wonderful ways.
