Don’t let people sell you dreams. They’ll name-drop every A-list artist they’ve “worked with” just to make you feel like you’re behind and that buying their service is your shortcut. Most of the time, that’s cap. Do your homework. Half the time they weren’t even part of the campaign. And if they were, ask yourself what they actually did. Were they making decisions that moved the needle, or were they just another body on set, running errands or offering extra support? There’s nothing wrong with those roles, but don’t let someone inflate them into something they’re not. An artist doesn’t become a superstar because of one campaign. It’s the years of consistency, the work nobody sees, the story people connect with, and the ability to keep showing up. That’s what builds careers. You reached out to ME, and the first thing you’re asking is, “What’s your budget?” 😂 What made you think I had a budget sitting somewhere, waiting for your DM? Some of y’all really see every young, hungry artist as an easy target. But I don’t blame you entirely I also blame us artists when we refuse to do our own due diligence. Sometimes we become so desperate to blow up and skip the process that we make ourselves vulnerable to people who take advantage of that desperation. Independent artists, please be careful with your money. Use what little you have wisely. Invest in improving your craft, your content, your brand, and building a real audience. Grow gradually and stop looking for shortcuts. Because even if someone takes your money and gives you a bunch of streams, ask yourself: Can you actually recoup what you spent? Did those streams create real fans? Did they sell tickets, build your audience, or move your career forward? Numbers alone don’t build careers. Take your time. Do your research.
