Today, we come together in rage and solidarity to condemn Israel's devastating bombardment of Gaza that has killed more than 300 Palestinians in the early hours of this morning. This attack, which deliberately targeted civilian areas, shatters the ceasefire that had been in place since January.

When we gathered in protest last week at Waltham Forest Town Hall, @abu__leila 's poignant poem spoke to the unending cycle of violence inflicted by Israel and the Zionist regime. Today, we see this cycle continue.

We refuse to accept genocide as business as usual. Together, we CAN stop the wheels of this mass killing machine, by refusing all investment in and support for Israel.

@lbwalthamforest , when will you end your complicity with this brutal regime? How many more Palestinians must die before you will act?

@amanithepoet and I wrote this poem in tribute to the children of Gaza.

When we sat down to write this, we were struck by two things. The first was the fierce bravery and unwavering faith of children, clearly illustrated by the words of the girl from the Jenin, Jenin documentary. The second was that a child’s hand was made for biscuits, not for stones, and we mourned the reason that they have had to become so brave.

We both admire and are sorrowful for their courage, their resistance, how they lead our way. As James Baldwin wrote, ‘The children are always ours, every single one of them, all over the globe; and I am beginning to suspect that whoever is incapable of recognising this may be incapable of morality.’

Victory to the children of Gaza, victory to the intifada
