Each initiative and process has been consciously considered with the planet front of mind 🌿 Highlighting some of my favourite initiatives, they also have a sustainable stay tip card to help you be the most concious traveller too! 💚 Carbon neutral - taking steps to reduce emissions in-house as well as offset unavoidable emissions by buying 100% green power. 🏄🏽‍♀️ Free bike and surf board hire - Helping you get around Byron carbon free ✌🏽 💧Collecting rainwater - The pool and gardens are serviced by 3 X 15,000 litre tanks, plus each of the bungalows have their own 3,000 litre rainwater tank. 🌞 Powered by the Sun - using as much power from the sun possible with their 82 solar panels and a 27kwh system. 🫧 Plastic Free water - filtered water is available in refillable jugs and cups or you can purchase one of their cute bottles as a souvenir. The water also comes in ambient, still or sparkling (fancy fancy) 🌻 Composting and edible gardens - Compost bins are provided in each bungalow, which feed their 4 Subpods in their large garden beds. 🧴Refillable amenities - each room and bungalow is stocked with beautiful @leifproducts refillable dispenses, minimising single use plastics. Out of the group chat onto the bush track 🌿🐨 Sorry, it’s so cheesy but I had to. 😅 I kinda underestimated this walk, it’s not long but depending which route you choose (we picked through waterfalls) which had quite a bit of scrambling up rocks, so make sure you wear some nice grippy shoes :) Marc and I had our trusty @willsveganstore boots which are so cosy, have awesome grip and structure! Mannum waterfalls (Moderate walk) 🚗 1.5 hours from Adelaide 🥾3km round trip ⏰ 1.5 - 3 hours if you’re having a picnic :) 💧 Bring water as there’s not heaps of shade 🌅 incredible sunset views, we spotted a few kangaroos and wallabies waking up around then too :) #adelaide #thingstodo #mannumwaterfalls #riverland #weekendplans

For the last few weeks, Marcus and I have been working on a little bit of a kitchen makeover and she’s finally finished and we’re so happy with it! I might post a before and after and a bit more of the process of what we did and the costings (spoiler- it was pretty darn affordable!!) I’ve always loved a yellow kitchen and we happened to be mid project makeover when I found the perfect buttery yellow paint.. which I actually scored for $10 on marketplace!! Made some yummy veggie chips in my dehydrator this week, such an awesome way to preserve fresh produce and avoid waste! 🍠🥔🥕🥦 I preseasoned some of the batch and did some plain, both were delicious but I’d definitely go for pre seasoning next time as it can be hard to stick the seasoning to the chip afterwards, plus it preserves the colour of the vegetables better… 🥕✨🫜 I’m keen to try some with a tamari and seaweed seasoning next item. Singapore has left me inspired to create more greenery in unexpected places... 🌱 I left feeling in awe of the city’s passion for greenifying the city with plants and impressive sustainable goals. The way the city has blended the lines between urban landscape and nature was such a joy to explore, with the countless living walls, trees and flowers planted across the city and highways is not only gorgeous, but also reduces air pollution while creating habitats for birds, bees and other wildlife. It’s been so little since I have done a little garden update, the season was a bit all over the place… but here’s a few things blooming and fruiting atm. We had lots of wins and quite a few losses, rip all my blueberry plants 🫐😥 One thing that has been a constant joy has been flowers, at the beginning of spring through to summer we had Lockspur and poppies and then the cosmos have been bringing so much dimension and colour to the patch and I’ve been able to fill our vases since August! 💐 Dahlia’s were really slow this year. I had a few blooms super early November and then I as pretty sparse but they’re powering through and will hopefully get more blooms before the cold weather or the powdery mildew takeover ❄️ today was glorious getting some sunshine and soaking up these warm days, not gonna lie though I am very keen for lots of cosy vibes soon 🧸🤎🍂🍜🧦🌰✨ As usual, I have been procrastinating planting the winter veg, but we will be getting onto you this coming weekend… it’s always so hard to pull out the summer patch when there’s still so much life. I do have a few things planted like broccoli’s cauliflower, spinach and peas. This weekend I plan to put in: 🫛Broad beans 🥬Cabbage 🧄Garlic 🫛More peas 🫜Beetroot 🥕Carrots 🥬 Bok choy Very grateful for this little space 🪏 #gardening #gardentour #autumngarden #veggiepatch #grow
