You see how only the #leftnip is out? Very demure. Very cutesy. I don’t show both nips. Very mindful. Hahahahahahhaha been very intentional with class and training lately and just grateful for growth :) rediscovering this RnB pocket I forgot I love so much has been a highlight of getting back into class this month :) First, and definitely not the last, time taking @_darienadam class! One of the most beautiful things about NYC is the people you meet and the communities u find! And I am so grateful that @theneighborsnyc brought the beautiful bright soul that is @maihadg into my community. You are such a special and talented and kind person, Maiha! I’m so grateful to have met you, danced with you, and shared a community with you! Dance isnt as present in my life as it used to be, but it’s still there in a very different and special way. Residency is hard. The hours are long. You’re there for patients in their happiest moments and on their darkest days. And as the intern (aka the 1st year resident), half the time you’re just trying to figure out how to do the basics, all while trying to give as much of your heart to your patients as you can, and also trying to remember to do your laundry and shower every night. But, surprisingly dance has been keeping me grounded in that. These days, dance is more for me than for anyone else: for the release, the pause, the reflection in the middle of a chaotic busy life, the refilling of my own cup so I can keep pouring into the people/patients that need it more than I do. Always remembering to be grateful for the privilege of caring for others and finding the balance of refilling my own cup in the small pockets of time I find these days.
