🚨Approximately 90% of people in ICE detention are held in privately operated #detentioncenters where corporations earn billions through government contracts - in essence CAPITALIZING ON HUMAN SUFFERING 🚨 #privatizedprisons

Critics point to concerns including overcrowding, inadequate medical care, limited accountability, and contracts that can guarantee payment for detention beds regardless of whether they’re filled. Although immigration detention is a civil, not criminal, process, many detainees are housed in prison-like conditions🚨

Please support Organizations @detentionwatch and @migrantfreedom as they are doing a essential work as advocates for greater transparency and reform.

$Props to @hollywoodfringe festival’s ‘ROOT’ (Running Out of Time) Immersive Theater in Mixed Reality / Augmented Reality by my friends, creator /director #KristinGorlitz technical producer @dulcebaerga & the actors from @ferrymanvr @deirdrevlyons @stevebutchko 👏👏👏 ROOT is an ambitious, complex, experiential #mixedreality \ #augmentedreality spatial Sci-Fi inspired live theatrical play about a dystopian future on earth, environmental / human rights activism & controversial future digital life extension which I greatly enjoyed. Upon entering, Us as the audience were given post cards w a QR code on them & prompted through a few simple, streamlined #AR activations on our smartphones to be able to see Deirdre real time avatar & #3D art floating above the stage - including an Ouroboros (snake eating its tail) which was a unique metaphor in my opinion on the play’s focus of human life on earth & the premise of Pluto’s digital life extension at the cost of planet earth’s exploited resources - a portrayal of one of the many of humanity’s existential dilemmas. This was a pioneering theater experience that was also made possible by advance preparation & steps that were sent to us via email / text in advance (arriving on time for orientation with fully charged phones) to ensure success. I’m curious if the avatar actress Deirdre was wearing a motion capture suit or what technology they used to capture her movement? People… can we please seriously talk about reality TV stars in politics, AI and the TOXIC combination of the two??

We keep hearing how dangerous AI can be, but we are watching over the last 5 years how politically charged AI videos, algorithms, sensationalism, fear, and negative drama are being used to trigger people, divide communities, and manipulate public opinion.

What and WHO are we actually rewarding in leadership?

Are we thoroughly vetting and voting for real leaders with integrity, ethics, civic experience, academic understanding, community service, environmental awareness, and long-term thinking skills? Or are we rewarding people who are simply skilled at media attention, inciting outrage, digital mud-slinging, and extreme emotional manipulation?

Spencer Pratt may be passionate about politics, and he did study political science at USC, but does that automatically mean he has the experience to lead a city as complex as Los Angeles? Losing your home in a disaster is heartbreaking, but directing all that anger at one person — when fires involve so many complex causes, systems, and failures — feels like a divide-and-conquer tactic, not mature civic leadership.

The mud-slinging in politics has become increasingly weaponized through technology, algorithms, AI videos, and outrage media — and we need to stop falling for it. Where are our intellectuals, our real community leaders, our environmental thinkers, our people with actual public service experience?

Where are our real priorities? What are we actually here on this earth to do?

I truly believe we need to wake up and become much more conscious about who we allow to manipulate their way into power — because leadership should be about service, wisdom, integrity, and protecting the future, not just whoever can generate the most drama online.
