[april 3, 2021]
Truth be told, I’m really good at celebrating others and a work in progress with allowing others to celebrate me
⠀
I was feeling lackluster about my birthday, almost melancholy, did not want to make plans
⠀
On my day I woke up feeling blessed and grateful. I was reminded, “don’t waste one single minute”
⠀
I rallied myself into a celebratory space. My friends/family celebrated me, showered me with love and reminded me to allow people to celebrate me
⠀
To say I’m thankful for them is an understatement!
⠀
Love hard
Live loud
Don’t waste it

I was meant to be a daddy’s girl! The story goes. . .My mom wanted to have another child. My dad said only if it’s a girl. They found a book, followed it like a recipe. My dad swears by this book!
⠀
He felt a girl would listen and he could guide to being her best!
⠀
He named me with the intent of not being able to tell what sex or race I was.
⠀
He had me walking at 5.5 months, because I wanted to go everywhere with him, I had to to walk.
⠀
My dad wanted to be what his dad was not. He wanted to change the narrative.
⠀
He did and I am forever grateful. He is the best!

“Always remember you have an imaginary parachute, whenever you need, pull the strings and fly out”. My Daddy! ❤️
