Wesley Snipes wasn’t simply cast as Blade — he was one of the key reasons the movie happened in the first place. In the early 1990s, Snipes wanted to bring Black Panther to theaters years before superhero movies became mainstream. To clear themselves of suspicion from the Monte Carlo police, Nick and Audrey must investigate the murder of a billionaire who had just removed all his rightful heirs from his will. After the comedy “Just Go with It,” Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston were looking for suitable material for another collaboration and decided that James Vanderbilt’s script (a versatile screenwriter whose credits include Fincher’s “Zodiac” and the sequel to “Independence Day”) was a good fit. In fact, Sandler and Aniston revived a long-stalled project — the film had been in development since spring 2010 (when Disney was involved).
