Cancer impacted every part of Sunny Blount's life, but it never took away her light. 💛

As a wife, mother of three young children, daughter, sister, friend, and beloved member of the Flatwater community, Sunny's courage, honesty, and love continue to inspire so many of us. Sunny and Scott have been deeply woven into the fabric of Flatwater for years, and it is an honor to share a small part of their family's story.

This year's Dam That Cancer testimonial honors Sunny's journey and reflects the profound impact that mental health support can have for families navigating cancer.

In Sunny's memory, the Sunny Blount Family Fund was created to help ensure more families facing cancer can access the care and support they deserve.

We hope you'll take a few moments to watch her story and help us carry Sunny's legacy forward. 💙

11 miles in, the weather had other plans, but the heart behind Dam That Cancer never missed a beat 🧡

HUGE thank you to everyone who showed up, paddled, cheered, donated, volunteered, and kept the energy going all day long. This community is something special, and we’re so grateful to be part of it.

Already counting down to next year!🙌

And they’re off! 🌊 Hundreds of paddle boarders started their 21-mile journey across Lake Austin Monday morning (6/8) for the annual Dam That Cancer event.

The event raises money for Flatwater, an Austin-based nonprofit that provides access to mental health therapy for people and families impacted by cancer.

Ahead of next week’s 17th annual “Dam That Cancer” paddle on Lake Austin, @swaggonerrr and @trevorscottatx sit down with Alyssa Cornett and Jessica Lombardi to talk all things @flatwater Foundation — and the powerful mission behind it.

The event brings hundreds of paddlers together in Austin for a full day on the water, all to raise awareness and support mental health therapy for individuals and families navigating a cancer diagnosis.

Head to the link in our bio to learn more, get the details for the Post Paddle Party, and hear the full conversation!

ONE WEEK from today, we take on 21 miles across Lake Austin! 🌊

We paddle for those in treatment, those in remission, those grieving, those caregiving, those who believe in access to mental health, for families, friends, loved ones, and anyone carrying the emotional weight of cancer.

Thank you for being part of this community and helping us fund access to life-changing therapy.

Help us fund healing 💙flatwater.org/dam-that-cancer-2026

On May 23, our community came together to take on “Fight Gone Bad” in support of the Flatwater Foundation — and because of the generosity, heart, and grit of our members, we raised an incredible $9,251.15.

The Flatwater Foundation provides access to mental health therapy and support for families facing cancer. They walk alongside people during some of the hardest moments of their lives, helping carry emotional burdens that no one should have to face alone. It’s a foundation we deeply believe in and truly love supporting year after year.

To our gym members: your participation, donations, encouragement, and willingness to suffer through a hard workout for a greater purpose means more to us than we can put into words. Watching this community rally together reminds us that fitness is about so much more than workouts — it’s about people showing up for each other.

Thank you for helping us make an impact far beyond the walls of the gym. 🤍
