And that’s a wrap on FRINGE WORLD 2026 ✨   In just four weeks, there have been 600 shows featuring more than 3,000 local, interstate and international artists across Perth and wider WA. FRINGE WORLD isn’t just one event; it’s thousands of acts of courage, risk, generosity, and creative determination.   To our artists, presenters, venue teams, producers and audiences: thank you! You are the reason Perth becomes louder, brighter and more playful each year. WAIT. 👀🎤 We just closed out the FINAL show of RapGPT at @fringeworldperth and I’m still walking around chanting “HULA HOOP” in my head. From the very first minute it was chaos in the best possible way. AI vs ADHD. Man vs Machine. Audience vs absolute unpredictability. Created and performed by Stian Macshane (@macshaneonthemic), this isn’t just a rap show — it’s controlled madness powered by lightning-fast improvisation. Anonymous prompts sent from your phone. Props flying through the crowd. An audience member randomly jumping on stage to dance during an impromptu Hula Hoop rap while Macshane just… kept belting flawless rhymes. From beginning to end it was CRAZY funny. My face actually hurt. Everyone was involved. No one knew what was coming next — not even him. And that’s what makes it mind-blowing. Not just comedy. Not just rap. But a brain moving at a million miles an hour and somehow landing every line. We walked out buzzing. Impressed. Genuinely blown away. ★★★★ reviews calling him bold, inventive and unforgettable? Accurate. If you ever get the chance to see him live — go. And Perth… if you’re not paying attention yet, you probably should be. While this was his final Fringe show, there are exciting things in the pipeline — from adult chaos to kids shows and workshops. There really is something for everyone. Follow him. Stay ready. Because I have a feeling next time, you won’t want to miss it. 🎤🔥

Things you may not know about my husband: Yes, he’s a full-time lawyer and dad… but he’s also a big rap nerd and part-time poet. 🎤 When he first came to Australia, rap (and Friends, obviously) were how he learnt English. Rap is linguistic art – it’s spin, it’s debate, it’s music, it’s story, it’s modern poetry. Of course a defence lawyer loves it. Who tap-dances around words, raps and spins a story better than a criminal lawyer? (Well… maybe his marketing/comms/PR wife. Me. 😏) He’s also a massive comedy fan, so when we had the chance to see @macshaneonthemic at @fringeworld (kindly invited by @reelperthect), AND it was a show we could bring Arthur to = immediate yes. Farris was so excited to introduce our son to rap in a live setting. The show: RapGPT – AI vs ADHD, man vs machine, freestyle chaos. The crowd sends in prompts on their phones, the AI throws out ridiculous challenges and Macshane has to freestyle his way through whatever comes up – politics, random objects, weird scenarios, you name it. It’s fast, clever, chaotic and genuinely hilarious. Watching Arthur bop along while his dad grinned like a kid in a candy store was honestly one of my fave Fringe moments this year. 🥹🧡 Huge thank you to @macshaneonthemic, @fringeconnect @fringeworld and @reelperthect for a show that ticked all the boxes: ✨ clever ✨ funny ✨ high-energy ✨ and weirdly wholesome for a rap battle about AI 10/10 would recommend if you love comedy, wordplay and watching a very human brain outwit a machine in real time. Are you a rap household too or more of a “Wiggles on repeat” situation? (We are unfortunately… both. 😂)👇
