We wrote a song for @witchernetflix ! It’s called “Shadows of Night”, and it’s out now. Such fun putting this together! We recorded it ourselves while watching early cuts of the show, and then Dylan mixed it. Dreamy work! Enjoy the song, and stay tuned for a new touring announcement coming very soon. Happy Halloween!

Surprise! A new HMR tune - called “The Message” - is out now! This is the 3rd of 4 bonus tracks recorded during the sessions for “Salt”. Even compared to the other bonus material, this one carries a distinct energy. It’s more raw. We engineered it ourselves, playing the bed tracks live, which carries a certain measure of risk… we wondered at times if certain spots were a bit too rough, but all attempts to “clean it up” just made it worse. It remains one of our favourites from that entire era. “The message ain’t clear, it’s not getting in…” - can anyone relate? Or, how about - “feels like oceans made way to rise”… we recorded these words in 2022, and to us they feel truer now than they did at the time. Enjoy, with warmest wishes from us to you! In the thick of the pandemic, during one of those lengthy lockdowns, it became clear that like so many of us, there was a psychological impact. I began to think that maybe, just maybe, it might be healthy to get back on the road. In advance of the new Bob Dylan film (@completeunknownfilm ), we thought we would do a fun, strange, quick version of Boots of Spanish Leather. I first learned this song as a 14 or 15-year old and continue playing it today, so it felt like the right time to try and record something. The single art is an image I took some years back, looking out over the Mediterranean from Sitges, Spain. You can see a slight dusty haze in the sky. I’m told it’s sand from the Sahara, swept up and carried over the sea by forceful winds. Hope you enjoy the tune. Happy holidays :) Dev
