As I get closer to meeting baby number two next month, I can’t help but feel like I’m grieving the chapter that’s coming to an end. 🫶🏼 Just me and Ellis most days. Just the three of us on some days. I’m so excited to meet our little bubba and watch our family grow but at the same time, there’s a sadness in knowing life is about to change forever. My mind is full of questions… How will I give my all to two little people? How will I split myself between them? Will Ellis still feel just as loved? How will we all find our new rhythm? The mum guilt has already started, even before baby has arrived. Is it normal to feel guilty and excited all at once? Then I think about what we’re giving Ellis a little best friend for life, someone to grow up with, make memories with, laugh with and always have by his side. Then that thought fills my heart with so much happiness. It’s such a strange mix of emotions. Excitement, gratitude, guilt, sadness, love… all wrapped up together. I know our hearts don’t divide, they grow but this transition feels so much bigger than I ever imagined. Please tell me I’m not the only one who’s felt this way before welcoming baby number two. 🤍

It’s a completely different kind of journey this time round… You worry a little less because you know what to expect. You’re more relaxed because you’ve done it before. You’re so busy chasing your toddler that some days you forget you’re even pregnant. You know how precious every kick is because you know just how quickly this chapter passes. But it’s different this time. There are fewer questions about how you’re feeling. Fewer people sharing the excitement. Fewer quiet moments to sit and dream because your hands are already full. The love is just as big. The excitement is just as real. It’s just a little quieter. To any other mums growing their second or third baby while raising little ones, I see you. 🤍
