This week, our staff had the amazing privilege of taking a day trip to the beautiful town of Fort Bragg to see the studio of @jnicktaylor who we are thrilled to now represent in the gallery. An artist’s studio is a special, sacred thing, and a sculptor’s in particular is something to behold. Taylor’s works are full of movement and energy as they harness elements of the natural world, the human experience, and his relationship to both. They are designed to pull a viewer all the way around a piece, offering new surprises at every angle.

We have a preliminary group of small pieces now on display in the gallery and are awaiting larger works here soon. Taylor’s work will also be featured in our upcoming exhibition, “Between Gesture and Form: Abstraction from Mid-Century to Now”, featuring Wolfe, Quirt and Taylor, opening on September 12, 2026. Save the date!

I consider myself extremely fortunate to have recently started working with Lauren Ellis of CK Contemporary Gallery in San Francisco. She has proven to be a dream to work with. Thoughtful, highly motivated and very insightful. A gift. Pictured is Lauren, (center), and her crew, Catelyn (left) and Anna (right). They make quite the team. They made a studio visit earlier this week choosing several pieces for the gallery. Four of those pieces (sculpture photos) are now in the gallery. “The Grace of Inner Orbit”, 31”h x 29”w x 20”d, steel, 2026. This is the latest finished piece. Its name reflects the grace which I feel inhabits this piece, but also what I feel I’m experiencing as I grow older, a grace which guides me.

I want to thank everyone that showed so much support for me in the recent competition I participated in.

Even though the competition moves forward without me, I am grateful to have been a part of it and that your support kept me in the running for quite a while.
I’ve learned much from being a participant, most importantly I’ve learned about what a wonderful community I am a part of.

Thank you again for all the love and support.

And yes, that is one of our wandering neighbors at the back door.😳
