Something a little different on the dyno yesterday! Still powered by a Japanese engine but a bike engine #hayabusa #gsxr1300 in a fibreglass mini! Revving to the moon! All controlled by a @link_ecu calibrated by @chrisjjm101 car experlty built by @jonnyf7 awesomely built car. Attention to detail is awesome. Wirings mostly buttoned up and I’ve been running through some tests. Even got it turning over 😍. Wheel setup is from @kitcarelectronics and it has allowed me to get away with only one hardwired switch inside the car for the battery isolator. Very simple wiring, just the logic setup to get my pea brain around.

Nice big weight saving! Had the expansion tank and catch can on the bulkhead previously and the overflow under the wing. I was going to use this on the new engine but hatched a plan…. Got rid of the expansion tank in favour of an in-line rad cap. Made up a new combined catch can/overflow tank. Took two draft attempts in PETG using £3 worth of material. Final version is PET-CF good for this application and cost £18. It’s sealed with 2 part epoxy fuel tank sealer as a precaution and has some simple internal baffles with scourer pads inside to help drop the oil out. A simple return in the bottom will drain any oil back when off load. No one likes emptying a catch can. Managed a cracking 1568g saving 😍. All that pipework up to the bulkhead was heavy along with the tank itself. Probably could get away with dropping a few walls off the print for a bigger saving, but it’ll do for now. Self promoting, but if you need anything designed and printed like this my print business is @jf3d_components 👍🏻.
