Disappointed isn’t even the word for this one 🥺 I’ve looked at this jump for the last 4 years I’ve been coming to Morzine.

I had a goal that one day I would be good enough and brave enough to finally get Widowmaker ticked off and thought this summer would be it! But it just wasn’t it 🥲

Last year I managed to get the step down/drop which took a lot to work up to because I was terrified 😅 and I did it again this year along with the bigger shark fin.

I really struggle with negative thoughts taking over. For some things I can switch my brain off but for this I just couldn’t 😭 I tried breathing, I even started singing to myself and got that all important fist pump, and a tow in but it just wasn’t it 🥲 Sometimes you can pull yourself apart from one small thing.

I let it ruin my day all because I couldn’t get over the fear of doing the jump (yes I actually sat down and cried after the 4th attempt because I was so frustrated at myself) 🙃 forgetting that actually I made such a big milestone since last year. Progress isn’t always linear and just because I didn’t do the jump doesn’t mean I didn’t achieve something I didn’t last year.

I hit the shark fin at the top and the step down with confidence multiple times and more than the week before! 🥵 the difference? I didn’t even feel scared or think twice about these two bits. For me that’s a breakthrough in feeling comfortable on certain features 🥰

Châtel with the gals 🩷 and trying to be more consistent at features!

Little moment for me of being scared despite being absolutely fine the other week! Then straight back to it and hit the jump the best I ever have 🥹 and I didn’t even scream!! 😅

It’s something I’m trying to work really hard on with being consistent and taking myself off of features I’ve done before which is a big thing for me. Big ups to the gals for the hype on this one 🫶 (thanks Loz for the kick up the a$$ haha)

Warm up jumps in @avoriazbikepark and getting confident on Pleney black 🖤

Each year I’m terrified of riding Pleney but this year hit different 🥹 and it’s probably one of my favourite places to ride in Morzine now!!

POV: you’re terrified of widow maker and you want to just do the drop on your own with no one looking 😅 turns out everyone left and then the lift stopped OMG!!!… drop done again this year ✅ with the help and support from everyone on the lift 😅😅

How to get the best POV riding clips using the @insta360 X5 camera 🔥

A lot of you have asked which is the best angle to film in and the settings I use so here it is 👇

I film in 5.7K with a 30 frame rate. Active HDR on, and Adaptive tone on. 360 view with Flowstate stabilisation automatically applied 💕 this is the best setting I’ve found for biking and when it’s going to be bright outside especially in the Alps! 🇫🇷

Wearing it underneath my peak the the angle pointing upwards as far as it will go. I find when you edit in the app you get the perfect view if you want to catch your whole face riding! It stays firmly in place and I don’t even notice it when riding/doesn’t restrict my view.

Head into the app when you’ve finished your ride, change the angle to where you want and hit record for the bits of footage you want. It’s super fun to play around with and you can even change the angle around when you are recording 🫡

Download to your phone in whichever setting you want and enjoy your POV 🫶

I rode the World Cup track!!!! 🥵 first year I’ve been brave enough to try Champéry 🤯 pretty proud to have made it down in one piece 🥳

Yes I walked a tiny bit, slid on my butt on one section and rode it at an absolute snails pace… but couldn’t be more prouder of myself for picking my way down! Riding at a comfortable speed for me. (Obviously I listened out for fast riders and where I could stop I did to let them pass, but everyone was so nice 🫶)

Soooo steep and loose 🥵 there’s quite a bit of grip in the corners you just have to pretty much keep it rolling! Definitely a few moments of just rear ending round the berms 😅

Made it down alive on the top section just about 😅 but I much preferred the bottom section once I had warmed up and knew what to sort of expect. It’s so different riding it than seeing it being raced on, and way steeper in person 🤯

Mega day over on the Swiss side riding steeps that are waaaaaay out my comfort zone 🫡

I’ve wanted this one for so long which seems so silly because it’s not the biggest feature out here in Morzine. But one that’s always been a total brain fkkkkkk 🤯

Massive thanks to @dcj_mtb on the tow in! Went straight back up to get the run in on my own, which is becoming something I’m quite proud of this trip 🥹

Didn’t even put pressure on myself to hit this one, spoke about it and just got it done 🩷

Crazy what you can do when you’re with a bunch of people who just inspire your confidence!

Absolutely buzzzzzin on this one 🥹 did this last year and it took a lot for my brain to cope with and process these two features in Chatel!

Part of trying to be consistent for me is hitting features I’ve done before without needing a tow in. So stoked I got it done and trusted myself after little time!!! It’s such a big win for me 🩷 didn’t hit any new stuff today but I’m so proud of myself for ticking off this line again with the confidence I didn’t have last year and on a completely different bike.

Gauging speed on your own is so hard but I trusted my ability! Cased the gap on the second run in (oooops) did it again and I just fknnnnn LOVED IT 🥵🤯🥰🩷

First time hitting features by myself and kept going up because it just felt tooooo good 🔥

I’ve looked at this line for the past 3 years and it’s been so in my head.. so today we picked it apart today and I ticked off some bits I wanted to 🥹 will definitely come back to piece it all together! But sometimes you just need to break it all down.
