Santa Cruz Shorty Race 2 is Wednesday. Race 1 was exactly what we hoped this series would be — fast laps, tight racing, redwoods, families, juniors, first-time racers, and plenty of riders going full gas through DeLaveaga. MTB Clubhouse will be onsite serving delicious food!  The fried rice was dope - I've heard it's veggie paste this time. Everything is fluid, fleeting, and cyclical. This year has been a rough one but if we can be patient and enjoy it for what it is, the hard times shall ultimately pass ... just like water over rocks. . That said, my heart goes out to those affected by wildfires, covid, racial injustice, or any of the other issues that have plagued 2020. . The new year in and of itself won’t change anything but it is symbolic, and the way we perceive things matters a lot. . So, if you’re having a hard time, hang in there. Know that there are people pulling for you and eventually things will get better. And here’s hoping we all work together to find and cultivate greener pastures in 2021. . ✌️🤍♾🍾🥂🎉

Where it all began ... our view driving south on the PCH on August 18th. The 2 main fires that had started a couple days prior as a result of dry lightning had now merged into a wind-driven superfire. . This video was taken approximately 15 miles north of our home as the crow flies, yet by the time we got home and turned on the scanner an ember had already jumped over 10 miles southeast, igniting a massive spot fire in upper Boulder Creek, which in turn ripped up Little Basin, cresting Eagle Rock and within just a few short hours led to a mandatory evacuation order of all of #bonnydoon. . Luckily, the winds died down, shifting to mostly a slow-moving ground fire but not before the raging firestorm along upper empire grade had taken many homes. . . . . #czulightningcomplex #bonnydoonstrong #slvstrong #scmstrong #czufire
