Yesterday, I had the chance to photograph an incredible mother who is also a longtime friend. Monk, you are one of the realist, most resilient, hardworking, driven, loving, and caring mother I know. You work hard every day for your family and always aim to improve. I’ve watched you grow from a young woman to a grown woman and it’s truly beautiful. Capturing this moment feels even more special because I remember when Nunu was just in your belly. Now, she is a gorgeous little girl with a wonderful spirit, just like her mother. There’s a hidden message in every creative journey. It’s the process, the long nights, the parts of life that the camera doesn’t always see.
For me, the last couple of weeks brought death close. My grandfather was in the hospital, I lost my homie and it shook my world. It felt like everything was happening all at once, back to back, and I had to step back, be still, and be present with the people I love, and with myself.
Sometimes we get so caught up in reading the directions that we forget to look up and actually enjoy the road trip. But that’s the beautiful thing about this journey, if you look up for a second, look around, and stay present in the moment, those moments last longer. And when it’s time to come back to the work, you feel more fulfilled because of it.
I know it may not look like I went anywhere. But for every video you’ve seen, I have recorded enough content to carry us through the rest of this quarter and well into the next. First quarter, we did great. Second quarter, the job is not finished. Third quarter, we keep pushing. And the fourth quarter? Well, like Kobe said, the job still isn’t done.

I stopped chasing noise
and started listening to my spirit.

Everybody want to look rich,
few people want to think rich.
Few people want peace.
Few people want discipline.
Few people want God when it gets quiet.

I learned that wealth
is not just what you hold,
it’s what you can walk away from.
It’s the choices you have,
the peace you protect,
the calm you carry
when life tries to shake your name loose.

I do not need the spotlight
to prove I’m shining.
I do not need applause
to know I’m chosen.

Some people count cash,
I count alignment.
Some people perform for attention,
I build in silence.

Because real wealth lives in the mind,
real power lives in discernment,
and real life begins
when you stop needing to be seen
by people who were never meant
to understand your vision anyway.

I move with grace.
I stay grateful.
I stay dangerous in faith.
