Join us for the opening reception Thursday from 6-8pm!

@mark.van investigates inner and outer topographies through aggregates of materials. Implications of conflict and ruin are present, but juxtaposed against suggestions of humor and restoration. Reaffirming the cyclical nature of life, viewers are invited to contemplate impermanence.

Over the years I continue to make these sand works on paper. I call them Drawings From Nowhere because they are just that - spontaneous automatic gestures done in 1-3 applications. A couple years ago I stopped numbering them because I lost track.
