A day in my life as a software engineer 👩🏿‍💻

Full video is on YouTube! #linkinbio

So far I’ve been working at Slack for four months! I’ve built features, created an API, learned best practices for accessibility, and I’m now doing research on a new project that I’ll be working on for the next 6 months!

Super proud of how I edited this video and I hope you like it! Have a great day y’all 🥳

Technical interviews used to intimidate me. For those who may not know, technical interviews are a way for employers to assess candidates and every job I’ve ever applied for consisted of undergoing a technical interview!

One of the reasons technical interviews used to intimidate me is I felt overwhelmed with the list of data structures and algorithms that I had to know! In the past I would study on and off and later get discouraged when I started doing medium level problems or when I was studying data structures like graphs or trees.

However, in September I decided to stop letting self doubt run my life and I reached out to @champagnecoder! He mentioned how he mentors people and he showed me this excel sheet. This was a serious game changer for me because I had a more systematic way to track my progress! What I was currently studying I would color the cell yellow and when I finished something I colored it green! At first it was hard to see my progress but as time went on and I saw more green cells I started to believe in myself more.

I 10000% recommend this to people who are studying for technical interviews! The link to this is in his bio! I just finished doing a whole bunch of technical interviews and I can’t wait to share all the resources that I used with y’all while it’s still fresh in my head! I think one of the first steps you should take is create a game plan and this helped me to do exactly that!

In a previous video, I shared resources Amazon gave me to prep for their technical interviews. In this video, I share the resources Google gave me!

Interviewing.io and gainlo.co are platforms that allow you to do mock technical interviews with real engineers that work at companies like Facebook, Google, etc! Hackerank is very similar to LeetCode and it contains hundreds of coding problems that you can do to prepare for your interview.

Fun fact! I actually saw some questions from LeetCode in some of my tech interviews!! If you are going to have a data structure and algorithm type interview I highly recommend using one of these sites to get your practice questions!

Follow for part 2!! 🎉💞

If you want to know how to monetize this app, lmk and I’ll make a part 2✨

I used Google AI Studio to build a custom tooth-brushing app—from the initial prompt to a published, working experience.

Want to learn how to take an app from 0 to App Store? Comment **TEETH** and I’ll send you my coaching app that gives you step by step daily actions from creating an MVP, building, design, security, to publishing your very own app 🦷

OpenAI Build Week is happening now!

You basically create a project using Codex with GPT 5.6 whether it’s an app, game, agent, website, etc

It’s online, global, and submissions close July 21, and there’s $100,000 in cash prizes across four project categories.

Comment “CHAT” and I’ll send you the official @openai event link 🔗

Comment “vision” for a link to the app!

Let me know if this is you. You’re excited about your goals, you have big dreams, but year after year you find yourself putting the same pictures on your vision board or writing down the same goals in your notebook.

That’s why I created Side Quest Slayer, document and celebrate all of the little and big steps you’re taking towards achieving whatever goal you have. In my own life, I found the process of tracking and visualization so powerful, but there wasn’t any tool that helped me to do this. So on the days you’re feeling down or just want proof that you’ve been showing up, open Side Quest Slayer and celebrate how far you’ve come!

Comment “vision” for a link to the app and lmk what you think!

What if I told you an app I built was 100% coded by AI?

Back in March, I was on TikTok live with Meezy and we were discussing vibe coding. We both agreed that vibecoding could create a prototype but we weren’t sure if it could go anywhere past that.

Fast forward to 3 months later, and we have a full blown app in the App Store that was created 100% by @openai codex, with code reviews from @microsoftcopilot !

I’ll be sharing way more about the process, but in the meantime if you want to learn to create your own app comment “app” and I’ll send you my coaching app that takes you step by step on everything I did, but in the meantime Side Quest Slayer is out now!! It’s free, but who knows maybe there will be paid features in the future!

I HAVE AN APP IN THE APP STORE!!!

Side Quest Slayer is officially in the App Store 🥹

What started as a convo between me and @almeezyuh about how real is vibecoding turned into an ACTUAL APP in the freaking App Store!

I learned so much over the past few months and I can’t wait to share all of that with you. Side Quest Slayer is an app for all the dreamers out there, instead of creating a vision board once at the beginning of the year, you throughout the year document and celebrate all of the steps you’re taking for whatever vision, or quest, you have!

More info coming soon! Comment “cake” and I’ll send you a link 💜

With the rise of AI, would you still recommend an 18-year old to major in Computer Science?

I sat down with Anush Elangovan, @amd VP of AI, and I asked him that very question. This was a perspective that I don’t hear as much where he believes junior devs can now compete with senior devs. Do you agree?

Should I drop more parts of the interview? We also talked about skills that AI can’t replace, the environmental costs of AI, ways he uses AI at work and in his personal life, and more!

With the current job market and the rise of AI, do you think it’s still a good idea to major in Computer Science?

#AMD_Partner How do you feel about what AI will look like in 2030?

Last year, I was mostly using AI. This year, I’m focused on building with AI. If you want to take your skills to the next level, I highly recommend AMD’s summer event Advancing AI, check out the link in my bio for more information. It was great to see how a top company uses AI and I felt so invigorated to keep building!

Asked a fellow Microsoft creator @maya_loves_code what her favorite #MSBuild announcement was 🎤

@github just dropped the Github Copilot app, built for agent-driven development, the one place to run parallel AI agents, manage your repos, PRs, and full dev lifecycle 🤖⚡

Shoutout to all the @microsoftdeveloper creators because this week has been everything 🫶🏽
