Recently I was honored to speak at the Dignity Index Summit. One thing I shared still sits with me: ā€œwhen someone directs contempt toward us, we still have choices.ā€

We can pause and ask ourselves:
ā€œHow can I respond in a way that builds dignity instead of breaking it?ā€

Difficult conversations happen everywhere—at work, online, at family gatherings… and December tends to test us even more. Emotions rise. Routines shift. But that’s exactly when dignity matters most.

Pausing. Resetting. Choosing our words with intention.
That’s how we move up the scale—and how we invite others to come with us.

Here’s to ending the year with dignity, even in the hard moments.

On this day a year ago today, I became the proud owner of my grandmother’s home- a place encompassed by her dreams, prayers, and love. A symbol of her dedication for building a future for our family.

I recall her telling stories of how she used to clean other peoples homes, but always had a vision for her future. She would dream about the day she would own her own home, where she would have others tend to it - a dream that once seemed distant became a reality.

As I reflect I am deeply moved by the memories and the legacy that comes with it. My grandmother envisioned a place where family could gather, love, laugh, and flourish. It is an honor to carry forward her dream, to nurture this home with the same care and affection she did.

Here’s to continuing the legacy she built and to creating new memories.

I have to also thank my mother( Eva’s Daughter) who has been there with me every step of the way! I couldn’t have done this without her. šŸ’œ

God is always orchestrating behind the scenes! - Over the years I’ve been told by many that I have a great speaking voice- My mother being one of those main people ā¤ļø. Well now I can add Voice Over work to the list! The opportunity to do this for the 55th NAACP Image Awards & Fashion Show Ceremony was a blessing. I have to shout out @marquitabradley the producer of the show, who put me in this space! Thank you so much - I’m truly humbled by the experience.

The other day I thought about my grandmother as I attended the 10yr anniversary of @hollywoodconfidential. Where the incredible @iamstevejones honored 92 year old living legend @marlagibbs4real and showered her with well deserved flowers šŸ’. She spoke of her life, lessons, and legacy.

As a child, and until this day I still watch reruns of the Jeffersons & 227!! Two iconic shows that broke barriers. Also, did you know she was 44 years old when she got her break out role on The Jeffersons???!! 😮
