Behind every Imagine Cup sign is a founder who took a chance on an idea.

This year, we had the opportunity to bring together founders from @copyflag, @tryrevorahealth, SpoilSafe, @lguardltd, World37 and @nyck_ai, along with @the.james.dev , a Gold Microsoft Student Ambassador and winner of the Microsoft Global AI Hackathon.

Each arrived with a different story, a different startup, and a different vision for the future.

What they shared was the courage to start, the determination to keep building, and the willingness to learn along the way.

Because Imagine Cup is more than a competition. It’s a community of founders, builders, and innovators who are shaping what’s next.

Imagine Cup 2026, hosted by Microsoft 🏆

Hope, is a precious concept.. and seeing the student founders this year has given me a renewed sense of hope.. for the future of tech, startups and the next wave of innovation being built in a world of AI.

I have shared a longer video of the startups, so that if any of these founders or their concepts apply to you and your work you can follow them, reach out to them and support them!

I have to say, I’m seriously impressed with their level of dedication, professionalism and problem solving.

A big congrats to @copyflag for their amazing work around IP infringement in the world of AI. From solving a personal pain, this founder turned that into a business opportunity that was well thought through and has the caliber of a solution from a seasoned founder.. 👏🏽🏆

What an incredible journey, and am excited to watch all of these founders in their journey as they evolve and grow. ✨

Was inspiring to judge this group of incredible students and to see their evolution in such a short period of time. Also proud to see how @microsoftforstartups is supporting young founders.

Watch the full 2026 Imagine Cup World Championship from #MicrosoftBuild, where @copyflag, Revora Health, and SpoilSafe pitched their startups live in front of a global audience of developers, founders, investors, and technology leaders.

🏆 Congratulations to our 2026 Imagine Cup World Champion, CopyFlag!

Built by @patr1ckbrown from the University of Oxford, CopyFlag is helping creators protect their original work in the age of generative AI. Using Azure-powered AI models, the platform detects copied and AI-modified content across the internet, helping creators identify infringement faster and automate takedowns at scale.

What began through Patrick’s personal experience of having his own work copied online evolved into a mission to make advanced content protection accessible beyond the world’s largest brands and enterprises.

As the 2026 Imagine Cup World Champion, CopyFlag receives $150,000 USD, a mentorship session with @microsoft Chairman and CEO Satya Nadella, continued support through @microsoftforstartups, plus an additional 6 months and $5,000 USD in credits from Replit.

One of the highlights of @microsoft Build this past week was spending time with Hans Yang and the @microsoftforstartups team.

During breakfast with our student founders, Hans shared his own founder journey—the wins, the setbacks, the lessons learned, and the realities of building something from the ground up.

One theme resonated throughout the conversation: choose your team carefully. 💡

The right people won’t just help build the product. They’ll help shape the culture, navigate the challenges, and stand beside you through the moments that matter most.

For founders preparing to scale a startup, those insights are invaluable. And hearing them from someone who has spent years working alongside founders and helping startups grow made the conversation all the more meaningful. 📈

#NYTech Week 🗽 with @microsoftforstartups, @womenwhocode, @hearstlab.us and rockstar founders talking about AI, building tech and strategy. ✨

Some quick insights and will be sharing more highlights from this panel around how to:

1. Talk to people and specifically your customers - observe how they react and respond

2. Find the right distribution partners and we’ve been fortunate @getbeeofficial to work so closely with Microsoft around g2m for enterprise sales

3. Think through are you optimizing for accuracy or efficiency with AI and what’s important to your user base and why

Will be sharing more insights from tech week and so proud to see so many women interested and building in tech! Especially Maya from Thread Ai, who was a developer at Palantir and also originally from the Middle East. Inspired to meet such amazing women who are building in this space.

And women who support women - with a dear friend from JP Morgan who came to support as well 🫶🏽🥰
