Members of UNITE HERE Local 274 set a new citywide standard of $30/hr, increased pensions, a reduction in room cleaning workload, and for the first time truly affordable family health coverage. 2026 is a historic year for tourism in Philadelphia with hotel bosses raking in billions while workers struggle working 2 and 3 jobs just to get by. IBEW Local 614 has officially put PECO and Excelon on notice. If these workers don’t get a fair contract by 12:01 AM on July 4th, these workers will go on strike. That means that the workers who provide 1/4 of energy in Pennsylvania will be walking the picket line if they don’t get the contract they deserve. Clocks ticking PECO⏰
