Truth is, I’ve never really enjoyed competing. I still can’t tell if it’s because I’m wary of injuries or simply because I care so much about doing well. I love wrestling. Even when life gets in the way and I can’t prepare as much as I’d like, I give everything I have with the time that’s left. This one was different. The arena felt like a sauna and I had to adapt my game on the fly, but for once I felt calm. In control. I could see the match unfolding before it happened. Grateful to my support on the day (can’t wrestle properly without some russian being shouted at me) and everyone at Prometheus who keeps pushing me, challenging me, and helping me become a better wrestler.
