💥I was so excited to attend the Portland Oregon America Next Top model auditions.
I believe it was 2005. I was so nervous on that stage in front of the judges.
5ft8 118 pounds, 18 or 19 years old-already battling an eating disorder since high school-
They said “you are perfect my dear”
So here I am thinking ‘OMG yes they love me’
Just for them to follow it up with
“You just need to lose 10-20 pounds and come back for next years auditions”
I looked down and could actually see my hip bones protruding. Thanks to low rise 1 inch zipper jeans. And I said something along the lines of “I don’t know if that’s possible” in return the multiple judges on the panel agreed it was indeed possible.

1. I did not go back next year. I did cry for like 3 days straight and probably didn’t eat either.
2. Obviously those people were insane. I was underweight if anything
3. Eating disorders ARE NOT the answer. One of the coolest things I ever learned was that eating right, and eating consistently, along with exercise will have 100000 times more positive effects on the body. Inside and outside.
Eating disorders are a mind trick and I promise you, healthy breakfast lunch and dinner will make you healthier and more beautiful than your eating disorder. Please feel free to DM if you’re struggling. I’m not a professional so I don’t know what I’ll say but I do know you’re not alone. Males too! Eating disorders don’t only happen to females.
4. I overcame my eating disorder and now I eat all the food at all the parties with no shame. It’s nice :) join me 🩵
