Headed down to Louisiana with @awendawangler for the 3rd Annual @theslicklure | @releaseover20 speckled trout tournament out of @hopedalemarina This event is hosted by our LA State Rep @cliff__hall and Pure Flats owner @gsample_atl This event was so inspiring, with many of the most avid trout anglers who want to do the right thing to grow a trophy fishery with more abundance for a better future. The camaraderie and fellowship were awesome. The winning team of @jon.miller.fishing @don_balius and Darryl King had a very impressive score of 44.75" for a 2 fish aggregate. No one left empty handed thanks to donations from the sponsors. I can't thank Greg enough for being a great friend and gracious host at his place in Shell Beach. It truly is a fisherman's paradise. I'm already looking forward to next year. Let's grow this!

Release Over 20 promotes the use of science-based best practices to catch, handle, and release fish.

Science shows that even small changes in how an angler catches, handles, and releases a fish can have positive outcomes once that fish swims away. Not only does using best practices increase survival rates of fish, but it also helps fish return to their normal behavior as quickly as possible after release. Using best practices for catch-and-release is a quick and effective way to put conservation into practice.
