MUST WATCH: Rep. Ritchie Torres grills the man behind Project 2025 (and behind the worst abuses of the Trump administration) on his ridiculous theory of impoundment, which would give Trump more power than the king the Founding Fathers rose up against.

We are living in a time of historic comebacks: the Knicks, the Bronx, and the restoration of the New York Harbor and the Lower Hudson River.

Proud to announce $833,000 in federal funding for the Hudson Oyster Project with @billionoyster, bringing oysters back to keep the Hudson clean and healthy.

The Court’s insidious assault on Section 2 is likely to trigger the worst collapse of minority representation since the failure of Reconstruction—not by accident but by design.

Yesterday, I was proud to deliver $700,000 to Hostos Community College for their first library renovation in 36 years.

Hostos moves students from the bottom 20% to the top 20% at four times the national average. As far as I’m concerned, $700,000 for Hostos is not an expense; it’s an investment in the future of the Bronx, and the return on that investment is the realization of the American dream.

ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE WIN: Diesel-fueled transport refrigeration units (TRUs) have long polluted Hunts Point, adding to truck traffic on the Cross Bronx Expressway. We are replacing 20 TPUs with cleaner technology and cutting dangerous emissions. Bronx families deserve clean air.

The goal was always simple: less traffic, better air.

Now you’re seeing it in real time.

The Cross Bronx has polluted our air for decades.

We’re done accepting it.

Reverend John Udo-Okon, a South Bronx pastor, will be coming to the State of the Union as my official guest. Rev. Udo-Okon leads Word of Life Christian Fellowship International in the South Bronx, where he runs a mobile food pantry, helps residents facing debt collection, and provides direct support to families in crisis. His church has become a lifeline for many in a community already facing some of the highest levels of poverty and unemployment rates in New York City.

He works daily with Bronx families facing immense hardship as a result of the President’s policies, whether it be the affordability crisis, the disastrous cuts to SNAP, or the lawless brutality of ICE.

Listen to the powerful words of Reverend John Udo-Okon, a South Bronx pastor who runs a mobile food pantry and is attending the State of the Union as my guest.

“There is no love in taking food away from children. There is no love in putting our seniors who are on fixed income at risk. There is no love in taking away healthcare from the poor...God loves the poor.”

I pressed a pro-Trump economist to defend Trump’s claim that he’s done more for Black Americans than any president since Lincoln.

He tripped over himself trying to justify a statement that is as offensive as it is detached from reality.

Proud to have delivered over $18 million in federal funding for projects across the Bronx, from NYCHA repairs and safer housing to new waterlines, school upgrades, and free internet access for families.

Real investments. Real results for the Bronx.
