Sister Sledge is an American musical group formed in 1971, and originally consisted of sisters Debbie, Joni,

Known for their work with Chic in the late-1970s, Sister Sledge reached the height of their popularity during the disco era. The group was formed in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1971, when their ages ranged from 12 to 16. They recorded their first single, "Time Will Tell," for the Philly-based 'Money Back' label. For the first few years, the group called itself Sisters Sledge.
In 1972, Sister Sledge signed with ATCO Records and recorded its second single, "Weatherman," which was followed by The Jackson 5-like "Mama Never Told Me" in 1973. It wasn't until 1979, when Chic leaders Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards
produced "We Are Family", that Sister Sledge really exploded commercially. "He's the Greatest Dancer" and the album's eponymous single both reached number one on the R&B charts, in the US.

The Jones Girls — At Peace At Woman

@thejonesgirlsofficial were an American R&B trio comprised of sisters Brenda Jones, Shirley Jones and Valorie Jones, from Detroit, Michigan.

They performed as backup singers for Lou Rawls, teddypendergrassmusic @arethafranklin and Le Pamplemousse.

They also worked with @dianaross from 1975–78 before signing with Philadelphia International Records in 1979 and releasing their first album.

Born 23rd March 1953, Great Lakes Naval Training Station, Illinois, U.S.A., Chaka Khan was raised on Chicago's South Side, and at the age of 11 formed her first group, the Crystalettes.

While still in high school, she joined the Affro-Arts Theater, a group which toured with Motown great Mary Wells; a few years later, she adopted the African name Chaka Khan while working on the Black Panthers' breakfast program. After quitting high school in 1969, Khan joined the group Lyfe, soon exiting to join another dance band, the Babysitters; neither was on the fast track to success, but her fortunes changed when she teamed with ex-The American Breed members Kevin Murphy and Andre Fischer to form Rufus.

Debuting in 1973 with a self-titled effort on the ABC Records label, Rufus was among the preeminent funk groups of the decade; distinguished by Khan's dynamic vocals, the group earned half a dozen gold or platinum albums before she went solo in 1978.

Chaka began her solo career with the hit, "I’m Every Woman," a tune written especially for her by the songwriting team of Ashford & Simpson. Since then, Chaka has recorded nine albums and been honored with five Grammy Awards. Her solo hits include "What Cha Gonna Do For Me?" "Clouds," "Papillion," "I Feel For You," and "Through The Fire."

Keiko Project alias Cosmos is a Japanese female keyboard trio that was active in the 1980s. Composed of Roman Kaieda, Yumiko Tanaka and Matsui Keiko.

Let's talk about 松居慶子 = Matsui Keiko (Maiden Name Doi = 土居). Head of Cosmos alias Keiko Project.

Wife of Kazu Matsui (The Kazu Matsui Project). Graduated from Japan Woman's University (Nihon Joshidaigaku) majoring in the children's culture. Studied music in Yamaha Music Foundation where she became a top student in Yamaha System and was selected to be the recording artist for them when she was 17 years old. She composed her first major film score that year.

A beautiful version of «Ravel — Pavane For A Dead Princess». @eumirdeodato, born the 22nd of June 1942 (or June 21, 1943) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and by 1967 moved to the USA.
Musician, composer, arranger and producer. Known for his 1979-1982 production work for Kool & The Gang and composing TV and film scores.

Primarily based in the jazz realm but who historically has been known for eclectic melding of big band and combo jazz with varied elements of rock/pop, R&B/funk, Brazilian/Latin, and symphonic or orchestral music. Mainly, his records can be categorized as pop/jazz or crossover jazz. His successes as an original artist (keyboards) occurred mainly in the 1970s. Since then, he has produced or arranged music in more than 500 albums for acts ranging from Kool & The Gang to Björk, Christophe and k.d. lang, while keeping his collaborations with fellow Brazilian artists Milton Nascimento, Ithamara Koorax and Marcos Valle.

Since 2011 he collaborates with the band Euro Groove Department in the live project EUMIR DEODATO & EURO GROOVE DEPARTMENT.

Two tons O’Fun alias The Weather Girls, as back-up singers for disco queen Sylvester, Izora Armstead.

They soon embarked on their own career as recording artists, avnd after recording what would be their biggest hit, "It's Raining Men", the girls rechristened themselves The Weather Girls. They remained active until 1988, when they went their separate ways.

橋田正人 Hashida “Pecker” Masahito has performed for more than forty five years as a professional percussionist. In 1978, he formed “Orquesta Del Sol”, the very first salsa band in Japan and released many albums and singles. Fully cooperated with Bob Marley & the Wailers, he recorded a solo album that was released worldwide in 1980.

In the mean time, mental health care become his major concern and a large part of his work. He advocates “Walking Therapy” as an action to defeat depression and has recorded two CDs on the subject.

In 2002, he first came to know drum circle that was a very new movement in Japan at that time. Since then, he has been a very active and creative facilitator.

Genival Cassiano dos Santos (Campina Grande, September 16, 1943), better known only as Cassiano, is a Brazilian singer, songwriter and guitarist. Precursor of soul music in Brazil, with influences ranging from the rhythm and blues of Otis Redding, the soul of Stevie Wonder and others, as well as the samba-song by Lupicínio Rodrigues. Due to their controversial behavior, as well as that of their friend Tim Maia, both called themselves crazy musicians.

Among his successes are "A Lua e Eu" and "Collection", in his voice, "Primavera (Vai Chuva)" and "Eu Amo Você", recorded by Tim Maia, "Mister Samba", in the voice of Alcione, and "Morena", performed by Gilberto Gil.

In 1976, Maurice Jackson decided to get back into music. He formed a new group called Silk, with Eric Thomas (of the Independents) and Arthur Reid (also from the Operation Push Choir).

The group got hooked up with a manager in New York who sent them to Al Bell and David Porter in Memphis to record. Silk released an album on New York's Prelude records in 1977, and the first single from the album, "Party" became a national hit.

The record had an interesting southern disco sound, being produced by Stax producers but with a contemporary flavor. A follow up single from the record did not get any play. Prelude released a second LP on the group, recorded by Gene Barge in Chicago, but did not release any singles off the LP and it did not receieve any play. Silk soon broke up.
