Just like that 2023 has come to an end. 2023 was a pretty Amazing year. It had some of the highest highs and one of the lowest lows I’ve ever experienced. We made some Really Amazing friends this year! Went to New York and Hawaii for vacation with my incredible wife. Attended Megacon, Dragoncon and Holmat. Pushed myself and made my first 3D printed armor build. Did several group photoshoots at Dragoncon with some Incredible cosplayers. Entered my first cosplay competition and learned so much at Holmat… But then on the other spectrum, I lost my best friend to Cancer on November 29th. Nothing really prepares you for a loss like that. I know I have a guardian angel watching over me, but it doesn’t make it hurt any less. I’ll continue to move forward and set goals to keep my mind off of it but just know that it’s something that’s always on the back of my mind. Regardless, 2024 will be an Amazing year and I’m really looking forward to it! Me and @kaileyvf first stage walk! This was an absolute insane competition with the best of the best and I was honored to even be able to walk the stage with our first armor builds. Everyone Really brought their A-Game and it showed. @goldchickadee @aestheticus.io had some of the most incredible costumes I’d ever seen. These 2 were absolutely stunning and I couldn’t get over all the skills and techniques used in these costumes! @pins.snip.cosplay had so many incredible sewing techniques in their builds and it was pretty incredible going through their build books to see all the detail and thought that went into it. They took home the Joy of cosplay award because they were literally the biggest joy in cosplay and they were the absolute sweetest. @technicallytoki and @blueeyesdante won runner up and those coats! The hand painted fabric was absolutely stunning but I really wish I’d seen these more up close and we’d talked more! Then we have the Best hype person in the backstage audio @hanari502 who looked absolutely stunning and took home Best wig! You are the such a kind hearted soul. @kiki_kannon looked absolutely stunning and took home runner up in her division. Just talking to her about her build while we waited backstage made me super happy. Also…. Her twitch con costume…. I can’t even! @charmanda.cos and @abradorable looked amazing in their armors and won best skit! So many absolutely incredible artists. Go show their pages some love! Last but not least, thank you @mikelightcosplay and @krispeycosplay for being our handlers while I could barely do basic things in 30 lbs of armor for 8 hours and this video.🤣 I think even being accepted into this masters competition with some of the best meant the world to me. I have A LOT to learn still. I will continue to learn and be the best that I can be. I do already have the next Big build in mind, but I may have to hold off for a bit.
