Carl Sobocinski is the founder and president of @table301 Restaurant Group in Greenville, SC. Over the past 25 years, he’s developed a standout portfolio including Soby’s, The Lazy Goat, NOSE DIVE, CAMP, The Jones Oyster Co., and more. Originally from New Hampshire, Carl came south to attend Clemson University and opened his first restaurant, The 858, in the mid-90s. In 1997, he launched Soby’s, now the group’s flagship. In 2006, he co-founded euphoria, a four-day food, wine, and music festival that draws thousands each year and supports local nonprofits. Carl will be inducted into the Upstate Restaurant & Lodging Hall of Fame on August 25. Today, we are deeply honored to share that Soby’s has received the @wine_spectator Grand Award, the highest recognition in the world for restaurant wine programs. 🍷 This milestone, 28 years in the making, marks Soby’s as the first and only restaurant in South Carolina and one of just 97 restaurants in the world to receive this prestigious honor. To our incredible team, loyal guests, and the Greenville community, this award is yours as much as it is ours. Thank you for believing in us and raising a glass with us over the years.
