August is BREASTFEEDING MONTH🍈🍈 And today I’m sharing my FIRST EVER nursing experience! After the twins were born via C section they were fed colostrum in the OR right away from little tubes that I brought with me (I’ll share more on that later) then we were wheeled over to our room where lactation nurses helped my first ever breastfeed.. which also happened to be a tandem one! 🥰💕 Baby A (Sirehni) latched on pretty quickly in what became her go-to position, we call the monkey face plant 😂🐒 Baby B (Xahina) was more difficult to latch. We tried a few positions and ultimately what worked was legs up by my armpits 🙏🏽 We learnt pretty quickly that every baby prefers to nurse in their own way and what may work one day might not the next! Breastfeeding requires a LOT of patience (especially with multiples! 😅) but when it works, it’s absolute MAGIC! What was your first FEED like? Nothing says “vacation” like rearranging the entire bedroom for your kids 😂🛌 Here are some simple ways I make our Airbnb safer for my twin toddlers… ✨ Push the beds together against the wall 🛏️ Tuck pillows under the blanket to create a barrier 🪑 Move furniture with sharp corners against the wall 🤍 Pad any exposed corners 🔌 Cover exposed outlets 🔋 Put heavy, battery-operated, or unsafe items out of reach 🌙 Lock the windows and close the curtains to make the room as dark as possible 🚪 Add a temporary door lock for extra peace of mind Do you have any Airbnb toddler-proofing tips I should add to my routine? The most JAW-SOME way to say “I love you, Daddy!” 🩵🦈 To create the gnarly ocean 🌊 my girls swirled together paint and shaving cream before pressing and shaping into waves on paper. These Bee-utiful Branch Hangers belong in a storybook 😍🐝🍃 For this week’s toddler art class, our busy bees stamped handprints onto Kraft paper, then turned them into the cutest little bumblebees with black stripes, smiley faces, googly eyes, pipe cleaner antennae, and baking paper wings. They also painted over bubble wrap “beehives” which revealed the most incredible honeycomb texture 🍯 Finally, I helped hang everything with twine onto foraged branches to create their nature-inspired hangers.
