The older I get, the less I chase company and the more I protect my peace. People will call you “family,” “sis,” or “bro,” then disappear when loyalty requires effort. They’ll clap for your wins in public but compete with you in private. I don’t have a small circle because I’m antisocial. I have a small circle because I’ve learned that consistency is rarer than chemistry, and character is louder than words. I’d rather be alone than surrounded by people pretending to be solid. 💜
