Accidentally shoot an (unofficial) Subaru commercial w/ some new Friends? ☑️🥰🔥🫠

Story-time… I got hired by my Friends agency to follow an owners event called “Basecamp” around the country where they bring out owners to have custom driving/camping experiences and this specific one landed us at @sfr_jalama where they not only had @dylangordon w/ his crew giving horse riding adventures but also @olasperdidas as the main live music each night. Please go peep their music it is so rad.

So at the end day three? @sonofthewesternsoil suggested we have him race a horse up a hill against a car (you can be the art department forever man!) and that spiraled into having the band up there w/ all the horses and then this happened. Its possibly one of my favorite things Ive ever filmed. Last shot of a very long day and wow. 🫠🥳🫡

Im not usually the guy to put people on blast but this series of events mixed w/ the Friends and experience I’ve had capturing them has been life changing. You know who you are. ❤️

El Pajaro Cú as explained by @xocoloco
El Pajaro Cú, or “the Cú bird, pertains to the Son Jarocho musical genre from the state of Veracruz, Mexico. Its origin date remains unknown, however documentation as early as the 1700’s exists, and its poetic verses have been improvised and cultivated since then, and some have become standardized with in this son jarocho. The particular verses that I am signing states when translated :
“I have my luck cinched to the shade of a papaya tree. I am not a man that easily faints, nor fades away, nor will I stop loving you, unless I am struck by a lightning bolt or God sends me to my death.” The response then states from a man to his love : “Why did you tell me that you were alone, when you with your lover. You are a fake and a traitor. You are my love, yet women are man’s doom.”
These verses date back hundreds of years, and are still relevant, cultivated, in efforts to preserve the culture, arts and humanities. The band @xocoloco @toddhannigan @jessebergometer @fishconga @salmoneye1 @austinmbd Filmed by @scottsoens and @johnphaneuf live at @theroblar for show dates and tickets go to olasperdidas.com live sound recording @echomagicsound @scotthirschmusic thanks to @tierra_sol_ojai
