The answer is love! When we say this was a labor of love, we think it’s important to be transparent about what it takes to make something like this happen.

BIG THANKS to…

🌞YOU….who all helped spread the word! We estimate about 400 folks showed up to the 4.5 shows in the tour.

🛝Our cast, who put in 40+ hours of group rehearsals and about 30 hours of show time with set up, break down, and travel.

Cast members chose their own honorariums, totaling $3750. We received $2800 from venues that asked us to come perform, and paid $880 to venues where we asked to use the space.

The spirit of generosity was contagious - I was shocked at how many people stumbled upon our rehearsals or art builds and asked if they could play some kind of support role.

We hope this inspires some more sugar-parents for community based healing arts, especially projects that don’t have access to the abundance that surrounds hubs like Canticle Farm.

…..Or maybe in the full vision of the gift economy, we all know each other’s needs and are all giving each other sugar?!

Groverflow is a WRAP!

We had a packed house at La Peña on June 18th and we couldn’t be more grateful. So from us to you, dear play participants…a big Grover GRACIAS!!!

We raised thousands from generous donations from near and far!!!!! We’re running the books on the cost of production (our majorly DIY and scrappy operation 🥲) and are humbly excited to resource Run4Salmon…keep a look out for that amount coming soon 👀

Abundance has been cultivated in so many forms—in generous forms of reciprocity, in the waters that have flowed within and around us, and in all the ways that our community continues to say YES! to play and to imagining radically new futures.

So honored to share my processing in this way with the help of @mgilvryallen @reeverthingproject @ifdannyhi for a musical collage that matches my wonder: In the stops and starts, how do we begin again?

This was the first song I wrote in 2026. Anxious about impending apocalypse, I found comfort in Indigenous Futurisms as a framework from which to both confront our pasts and reimagine decolonized futures outside of a Western supremacy.

Yes, our worlds are ending. And beginning, and ending again. (And beginning!)

And through it all, Mother Earth spins.

May we continue to turn with her, and may music provide the backdrop through the ins and out of all of the little endings 🌱🤲🏽

Groverflow brings you into the question - how can we undam the flow?

Taking place in the interplay between our inner and outer watersheds, the show follows a beaver named Grover trying to deconstruct the mega-dam that his ancestors built after being infected by a spell called Disconnectitus that numbs heads from bodies.

He is joined by the wise vulture Granny V, the shameful ostrich Shameus, Cancerroach, and the Flock, who all accompany him to divest his vest of armor and find a role in restoration.

The play emerged in 2024 from Robin Bean Crane’s exploration of their cancer diagnosis, finding connections to the collective body’s movements of divestment and restoration.

The show is BACK! in 2026 in a more participatory form, shaped by ensemble members from @playgrndexperience with rotating directors Andrea, Deanalis @chupacabrita Emma @blue.emma and Arielle @arielletonkin by @reeverthingproject

A special edition tool teach-in with Play Lab’s Cielo Morales @crowcamino

Together we’ll release the control of our rational logical brains, and surrender into stories we need as we embody live collective world building through play.

Every month, we gather around a sticky topic - a theme that’s touchy, heavy, or hard to talk about, suggested by our community of practice. Instead of getting stuck in ruts of our rational brains, we play through the layers of complexity, doing embodied research through games and reflective activities.

The container we set creates safety for all emotions to flow - not just laughter, but also grief, rage, and deep revelation. For March, we will share exercises for co-creating stories with our bodies. 🦶🏽🦾🫁👤

These exercises come from our teachers in the world of ensembles devising physical theater (Pig Iron Theater and Double Edge Theater).
🌀Ensembles aka intimate groups of people with a shared intention to co-create.
💡Devising aka conjuring new/ancient work that’s based on what comes through our bodies in a shared presence, not a pre-determined text or plan.
👁️Physical theater aka communicating beyond or without words. You don’t have to identify with any of those obscure words!

We’re hoping to translate these tools into our practice of envisioning and rehearsing for futures of mutual care and liberation. by @reeverthingproject

Snake year has offered many opportunities for us to shed. Us as in me and Fred 🐍 Fred as in the part of me who has been so dang scared of letting go of the people, places, habits, health/abilities that I cherish. For better or worse Fred has been scared to shed, stretching himself thin to try to do/be it all. But on this episode of Fred’s Shed Show (Ted talk meets shit show) his community sung him encouragements to release his old beloved garbage bag skin. These gracious participants even showed their own shed dances as we layered this never-before-sung song that came that morning while we were painting. By the end he had a new name, Freddy who is ready to shed-y. May you find your version of support to wiggle out of the old. If you want to make a puppet for a part of u, me and my weirdo friends are here for yous. Ps Freddy finally shed his Spotify account today cause who needs that when ur friends have drums!? by @reeverthingproject
