A #functionalmedicine and #holistic wellness practice rooted in Christ. We reclaim health as the state of body and soul.

Dear Friend of Reform,

Several years ago, amid my own health journey, I experienced deep healing in Eucharistic adoration: I realized that to be truly well, I had to place Jesus at the center of all aspects of my life. That meant that in order to help others, I had to invite them to do the same. And so, Reform was born.

Since then, our team has accompanied nearly 10,000 people worldwide as they reform their lives through our online courses, webinars, digital resources, and in-person retreats.

Over the past few years, the Lord provided me with the grace of a purified heart and renewed courage to carry forward the mission of Reform in a new way.

First, on pilgrimage, Jesus planted within me a desire to mirror Our Lady and establish a place for Him to dwell—first within me, and then, for others.

Next, during a silent retreat, He inspired me to provide a monastic experience for our community overflowing with space and silence.

Lastly, while walking the Camino, He revealed to Dr. Bridget and I that spending more of our days offline and outside increases our ability to mirror the rhythm of nature and experience the beauty of God’s creation.

In His generosity, the Lord has revealed our next step—a Reform Eucharistic Wellness Center!

Here, guests will immerse themselves in the Reform way of life and learn how to live out our wellness pillars—they will nourish their souls with the Holy Eucharist, their bodies with whole foods, and their minds with solitude in nature. This will be a place to experience the fullness of life in Christ.

I invite you to join us through prayerful support as we build a taste of heaven on earth. Together, we can restore the Body of Christ, physically and spiritually, and learn how to live a way of life centered on the Eucharist, the One thing necessary. See link in bio to learn more about this exciting chapter and how you can support us!

Today the Church keeps the feast of St. Teresa of Ávila, Doctor of the Church and patroness of Reform. A beloved tradition tells us that Our Lord once appeared to her and asked, “Who art thou?” And she answered, “I am Teresa of Jesus.” Then, with the holy boldness of a soul that knows it is loved, she turned to him and asked, “And who art thou, Lord?” And he said, “I am Jesus of Teresa.”

In that tender exchange, the whole of the spiritual life is laid bare. She is his, and he has given himself to her, wholly and without reserve.

Our identity is not something we build or earn or achieve. It is a gift, spoken over us by the One who made us and who delights to belong to us as we belong to him. When we forget this, we go looking for our worth in the world: in our productivity, our bank account, the number on the scale, our relationship status, our appearance, our accomplishments, our reputation, and the approval of others. But when we remember whose we are, we can finally rest, and from that rest, we begin to live in the freedom and abundance we were designed for.

At Reform, we believe that to be wholly well, we need to reclaim our identity in Christ and live from that truth every day. It is the root of everything we do. Our work in body, mind, and soul is simply the fruit of that belonging, and it is only from our truest identity in Christ that real healing can unfold.

Comment “AVILA” and we will send you a name tag of your own. Fill it out, and each morning say it aloud, letting him speak again the name he has already given you. Then let everything you do stem from this place: how you pray, how you eat, how you sleep, how you meet the people before you, how you play, how you work, and how you move. You are his, and he is yours.

St. Teresa of Ávila, patroness of Reform, pray for us!

At Reform we believe real, lasting change comes from small, sustainable steps, taken one day at a time, and not from big, sweeping gestures.

It is helpful to consider how we can be more intentional and consistent in creating change. Though there are a variety of methods to help us build new habits more effectively, such as being specific, having accountability, and setting smaller milestones, we have found that one of the most helpful is stacking the new behavior onto something we already do consistently.

By stacking a new habit onto a behavior that is already habitual, we give the brain a cue that it can then associate with the new behavior. With repetition (and patience!) we strengthen neural connections that become more automatic over time.

We encourage you to consider what moments of your day could serve as a helpful cue for a new habit. It may be a glass of water after you start the coffee pot, placing your phone out of reach after you set the alarm, or going for a walk after you drop the kids off at practice. Little by little we can build more sustainable habits to support a lifestyle of health that lasts.

We invite you to read our full blog post, Reform, a Little Every Day, at the link in our bio to learn more about micro changes, habit stacking, and the quiet power of consistency.

Activity and rest are two vital aspects of life. Finding a balance in them is a skill; we must know when to have rest and activity and how much to have each. Many of us are experts in activity-- and often, we find it hard to pause for rest during the day. Our days have become overscheduled and far too busy.

Lack of adequate rest can lead to high-stress levels and fatigue. In addition, inflammation rises, mental capacity decreases, immunity reduces, and metabolism and mood suffer. Our bodies, minds, and souls require quiet time to repair, recenter, and reform daily.

Unfortunately, “rest” for many can look like mindlessly scrolling media, incessantly checking the news, watching TV, or engaging in other forms of distraction that offer no rest for the brain and body. We need and are craving time to rest and digest life interiorly and exteriorly.

We must prioritize time with the Lord through daily surrender and rest in Him. So, how do we strive for Sainthood while building rest into our day? With intentionality, consistency, and obedience to rest.

We invite you to implement a daily Sabbath, an intentional time—break—in your day when you are resting in the Lord, with no noise, distractions, or output. Here, you will shift from self-reliance to total reliance on the Lord, allowing your body, mind, and soul to rest. You can plan your daily Sabbath just as you would plan any other appointment—with the best of company [Jesus], who will provide what the world cannot.

Today we celebrate the feast of Our Lady of the Rosary. It is a day that helps us to think about peace which comes about through prayer.

On October 7, 1571, a fleet of the Holy League, an alliance of Catholic states including Spain, Venice, and the Papal States met the Ottoman navy off the western coast of Greece in one of the largest naval battles in history.

Pope Pius V had urged Christians across Europe to pray the Rosary for victory, and the outnumbered League won decisively, checking Ottoman naval expansion into the western Mediterranean.
In gratitude, Pius V established a feast of Our Lady of Victory, later renamed Our Lady of the Rosary.

While the feast has a particular origin, it still teaches us lessons today. That includes the reality that we can also be victorious with our interior battles—including fear, discouragement, comparison and burnout—if we stay close to the Son and His Mother.

Perseverance in prayer, including meditating on the Gospel by praying the rosary, helps to remind us that our reformation is something we are doing hand in hand with the Lord, and that the ultimate battle, with sin and death, has been won.

We invite you to take one step today in making a daily rosary part of your formation. Start with one decade and build up, just as you would with physical training. Trust us that the peace will increase with this practice.

We are so grateful to everyone who joined us for the Reform Your Finances Summit, during which we looked honestly at two truths that reach deeper than budgets and spreadsheets: our relationship with money can be a quiet source of dis-ease in our lives, and lasting financial freedom begins not with numbers, but with trust.

We considered how fear and self-reliance can lead us to bury the resources God has entrusted to us. But we also examined how our finances can become an onramp to deeper intimacy with Christ—a place where we release our grip on security and allow Him to be our security instead.

Then we turned to the practical work of faithful stewardship: creating stability through budgeting and a rainy day fund, paying down debt, and investing not merely for ourselves, but for the Kingdom and the legacy we hope to leave behind.

Above all, we were reminded that stewardship is not about control. It is about allowing the Lord to bring order, freedom, and purpose into every part of our lives.

The summit is still available for replay. Access the summit through the link in our bio with any dollar amount donated.

Today we celebrate the feast day of one of the Church’s most well-known saints, Saint Francis of Assisi. Popular piety can obscure just how radical Saint Francis’ idea was that to follow Christ we must imitate Christ—to do as He did, speak as He did, love as He did.

Saint Francis’ complete commitment to poverty was revolutionary because He embraced Christ’s humility in body and soul.

Reform is blessed to be supported by a group who follows Saint Francis’s complete commitment to “walking the walk” when it comes to discipleship: the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal @cfr_franciscans, commonly known as the CFR’s are a Catholic religious community of priests and brothers founded in 1987 in the South Bronx of New York, and make vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience, anchoring their daily life in deep contemplative prayer, Eucharistic adoration, and the sacraments.

A major pillar of their charism is hands-on work with the poor and marginalized, moving beyond basic soup kitchens and shelters to build personal, compassionate connections. They actively preach the Gospel and share the Catholic faith through parish renewal, missions, media, and writing.

Reform has been formed by the CFR’s as well as involved in the formation of their religious community and commitment to Christ-centered wellness.

Their witness, as well as that of their founder, inspires us to be “walking monstrances” who bring Christ to all areas of our life and to everyone we encounter. We are invited to bring Christ to our work, our tables, to the gym, out in nature.

On this feast day, we encourage you to consider where you can bring Christ—and to invite Him into all aspects of your life. He longs to accompany you in everything. by @reform_wellness

Handing our worries to the Lord feels risky and sometimes overwhelming, especially when suffering and stress are high. Our foundress, @jackie_mulligan shares her 5-step process she learned in spiritual direction about how to hand over your worries to the Lord each day and shift from self-reliance to full reliance on Christ.

1. Look up. Acknowledge Jesus’ presence. Let His look of love fall upon you. Since our natural reflex is to take it on ourselves, we have to shift our focus to Jesus intentionally.

2. Describe to Him what’s going on. Be totally yourself and radically real. Use your own language! Tell Him freely what you want or need. Are you suffering from health concerns? Are you frustrated at work or worried about a loved one? Empty the bucket and tell Him exactly what’s going on.

3. Turn it over. Let it go completely. Surrender it. It’s His “stuff” now.

4. Allow space to listen. Ask Jesus what He thinks about the person or situation. Give Him a chance to reveal His wisdom through His lens.

 5. Ask Jesus, “What are you going to do about this?” And then thank him for the grace to come ahead of time.

This simple process dramatically changed Jackie’s life and drew her into a deeper relationship with Jesus.

We encourage you to try this process for a week, knowing it will reform your life- helping you to shift to total reliance on God and not yourself. When we put ourselves in the posture of being radically real in not being able to do or solve something/someone, we allow total focus on the One who *can* fix/handle it.

We become Nothing so that He can do Everything.

For more tools and best practices about faith and stress management, we invite you to learn more about our foundational course Reform Online (linked in bio!)

+ We invite you to bring your stuff no matter how big or small, to Jesus: be poor, be a beggar, and go to Him with your needs. When you trust in Him, all you need to do is wait confidently and expectantly—and He WILL take action. What or who will you hand over to Jesus this week? by @reform_wellness

Today we celebrate the memorial of the Holy Guardian Angels.

We believe that every human life, from its conception until death, is surrounded by the watchful care and intercession of guardian angels. They offer guidance, protection from spiritual harm, and help individuals seek God's will.

The Catechism of the Catholic Church states, “Already here on earth the Christian life shares by faith in the blessed company of angels and men united in God.” And in Scripture we read Jesus’ words that children’s “angels in heaven always look upon the face of my heavenly Father.” (Mt. 18:10)

Today is a reminder that while our default posture is self-reliance, the belief that we can or must do everything by our own strength and according to our will, doctrine says that God has given us help from day one. This is not a sign of weakness but strength; having heaven on your side is a great relief.

We invite you to not just to believe your angel is with you but to call upon it. We can speak to our guardian angel and ask for help with particular challenges, hopes, or needs. We can also send our guardian angel to speak to another person’s guardian angel—a comfort for spouses, parents, friends, and all of us striving for wholeness and holiness.

We encourage you pray the traditional prayer to your guardian angel each morning and evening, not only today on this feast:

Angel of God, my guardian dear,
To whom God’s love commits me here,
Ever this day [or night] be at my side,
To light and guard, to rule and guide.
Amen.

Happy Feast of St. Thérèse of Lisieux! Today we launch the Carry One Forward campaign in honor of her patronage of Reform Alms, and in the spirit of her own hard-won lesson in what it means to be carried.

Thérèse knew she was too small to climb "the rough stairway of perfection." So instead of striving upward on her own strength, she asked to be carried: "The elevator which must raise me to heaven is Your arms, O Jesus!" She knew that reliance on God was a surer path to holiness than self-reliance.

Our intention for this campaign is that all those in need of Christ-centered wellness and formation would receive the gift of being carried forward by another Reformer. We pray that what is carried forward now would bear fruit for generations, leading more souls to Christ, and that this fruitfulness would extend beyond anything we can currently envision.

Many members of the Body of Christ, from lay families and students to priests, religious, and seminarians, face a steep stairway of their own, bearing financial, spiritual, and vocational burdens, often alone. Reform Alms exists to lift them, offering whole-person healing to those who could not otherwise receive it, so they can go on carrying the Church.

By donating to Reform Alms, you help heal the Body of Christ, bringing care to clergy, religious, and lay communities who would otherwise be unable to access these services.

Thank you for all the ways you have already carried this mission with us. From now through the end of the calendar year, December 31, we are asking you to help us raise $100,000. Every gift carries one person forward, and in time, those who have been carried will carry others.

You don't have to carry the whole weight. You only have to carry one. Please consider making a gift today through the link in our bio. And if Reform has carried you, we would love for you to leave a rose in the comments. St. Thérèse, pray for us!

Today we celebrate the feast of the Archangels mentioned in Scripture: Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael.

St. Michael is a protector. He appears in the Book of Daniel as the guardian of God's people, in the Epistle of Jude contending with the devil, and in the Book of Revelation leading the heavenly host against Satan. He is seen as the defender of the Church and of souls at the hour of death, which is why the Prayer to St. Michael asks him to "defend us in battle."

Today you might contemplate what you are asking God to guard in you this season — your peace, your family, your focus?
St. Gabriel is the messenger. He interprets Daniel's visions, announces the birth of John the Baptist to Zechariah, and brings the Annunciation to Mary. Because of that role, he is associated with good news and the Incarnation.

We encourage you to consider the following: Are you paying attention to what God is trying to tell you right now, and do you have the courage to say “yes” to it?

St. Raphael is the healer and guide. His story is in the Book of Tobit, where he travels in disguise with young Tobias, protects him on his journey, helps arrange his marriage to Sarah, and restores his father Tobit's sight. He is the patron of travelers, the sick, and those seeking a spouse.

We invite you to pray about the following truth: You're not meant to heal alone, and this feast is a reminder that God sends companions for the journey, seen or unseen.

May the archangels intercede for us today and always! by @reform_wellness
