With one hand @danielandrewsmp reaches for the top shelf, with the other he utilises a public health crisis to move onto @dwembassy. Yesterday the Directions Tree was removed. One of many trees of sacred significance to Djab Wurrung which have been protected for the last 3 years. It's absolutely devastating. Our people, land and culture need protection.

In my bio you can find a link contact the premier to stop the works on site. Very simple, it then provides you with phone numbers of those involved too.

We need your help to stop Australia locking up 10-14 year olds says Rodney Dillon, the Indigenous Rights Advisor for @amnestyaustralia in today’s @sydneymorningherald article.
“I am so tired of keyboard warriors saying things like “Indigenous people should look after their kids so they don’t get locked up” or that “It’s just a fact that Indigenous people get into trouble with the law more...

I can’t help but think if some of those people stopped and listened to the experience of someone like Dujuan, the young subject of the film In My Blood It Runs, they would understand that given the same opportunities as non-Indigenous people, First Nations People can live happy and healthy lives free of the justice system, and connected to culture and country.

Next Monday, the National Council of Attorney Generals are meeting at NSW Parliament. They have has an incredible opportunity to make a positive change for Indigenous people in Australia for generations to come by finally committing to raise the age from 10 to 14.

I only ask that we approach this problem with compassion and logic rather than anger and outrage. These are kids, not hardened criminals. In locking them up and not supporting them to flourish we’re setting them up to fail.”

There’s a responsibility to listen and educate ourselves. Go to @blklivesmatter for one example of a resource to support and donate Black square with white text staying. Keep sharing resources by, and credit BIPOC authors. Keep out of black educator and creators DMs (it’s not their job to educate us, or placate our sorrys or will do betters). Keep researching and talking.

The Black square posted in solidarity, originally coined by the music industry as a mode of standing in support of Black Lives Matter movement and the current protests at the murder of George Floyd. The black square was quickly adopted as a way to show wider support. by @reginald_36

Thank you so much for the response we have received thus far!

Every dollar and every share goes a long way.

I'd like to introduce you to Emily and Roger. Emily, along with her mother Sharon, run the @goongerahwombatorphanage that took Roger in as a small pouch joey. Rog hasn't had the easiest time growing up, and now his home is surrounded in flames.

When Emily isn't at the orphanage, she is the operations supervisor of Wildlife Victoria, making sure the day to day emergency response service is running to its full capabilities in order to help as many injured wildlife as possible.

Sadly, we haven't seen her since before Christmas.

Emily and Sharon had to evacuate Goongerah, and she has remained in the fire affected areas helping other shelters with their animals until she can return home.
