Ahí entendí que Regreso/Return es un documental que se cuenta a través del tiempo. Al final de la película vemos nuevamente a Viri con sus hijos andando en bicicleta, pero el mayor ya no parece un niño.” 🇺🇸 What moment, image, or idea from your experience working on the documentary has stayed with you? “What stayed with me most was meeting Viri and her children in Quebrantadero, Morelos. That’s when I understood that Regreso/Return is a documentary told through the passage of time. At the end of the film, we see Viri with her sons again, riding their bikes, but the oldest no longer looks like a child.” by @regresoreturn

CONOCE AL EQUIPO/ MEET THE CREW Marie Gabrielle Blix @mariegabrielleblix Compositora / Composer 🇲🇽 ¿Qué momento, imagen o idea de tu experiencia trabajando en el documental se te quedó grabado? “Fue especialmente lindo trabajar en el montaje final del largometraje. Musicalmente representó un desafío por su duración, pero al mismo tiempo la composición fluyó de manera muy natural. Siento que todo el trabajo realizado para la banda sonora original encuentra su culminación en este último montaje. Gran parte del camino ya estaba recorrido: retomé el cue del inicio junto con otros fragmentos del soundtrack, lo que me dio la libertad de adentrarme emocionalmente en las historias de Vale, Viri y María y acompañarlas musicalmente hasta el final.” 🇺🇸 What moment, image, or idea from your experience working on the documentary has stayed with you? “It was especially meaningful to work on the film’s final sequence. Musically, its length presented a challenge, but at the same time the composition flowed very naturally. I feel that all the work we did on the original score comes together in this final piece. Much of the path had already been laid: I returned to the opening cue, along with other fragments from the soundtrack, which gave me the freedom to enter more deeply into the stories of Vale, Viri, and María and accompany them musically through the end.” Cuerdas / Strings - Cuarteto Arcano: Vln. No tanto por el atardecer, sino porque por un momento todo parecía estar en calma. Vale estaba tranquila; sus hijos jugaban en el agua con Molly. Fue como cuando la vida te da una palmada y te dice: ‘Tranquila, todo va a estar bien.’” 🇺🇸 What moment, image, or idea from your experience working on the documentary has stayed with you? “One of the moments that stayed with me most was when we filmed Vale and her children on the beach at sunset. Not so much because of the sunset itself, but because for a moment everything seemed calm. Vale was at peace; her children were playing in the water with Molly. It felt like one of those moments when life gives you a pat on the back and says, ‘It’s okay. Everything is going to be all right.’” by @regresoreturn
