In 2004 I found a copy of Thriller by Michael Jackson at a thrift store for $.25. I thought it was something special. Stay for more music and stories.

Today we’re celebrating flannel shirts, walking on crunchy leaves, crisp air, and the 23rd year of The Early November’s debut album the Room’s Too Cold!

Give it a listen while you enjoy fall!

Happy 30th Birthday Everything Sucks! You’ve officially gotten old.

This album was a triumphant return by the Descendents and showed the whole punk scene that they can come back after 9 years or so and drop one of their best albums. This album has feeling, classic Descendents rifs, and the life experience to back it all up!

Everything Sucks was my introduction to Descendents and it’s still one of my favorite punk albums.

I have wanted this on vinyl for a very long time. In 2008 I found this cd at a record store and that was when I found out that Nerf Herder was still together. I found their 2nd and 3rd cds pretty quickly after that and although releases are far apart I haven’t let them out of my sight since!

This was the concert picture I took the last time I saw Chad Gilbert play. Since the first time I saw New Found Glory on a tiny stage at Warped Tour in 2000 they have been on of my favorite bands to see live and Chad was always so fun to watch. He carried himself in a way that demanded attention on the stage. He got the crowd hyped and climbed something tall. He did so much for punk and hardcore and will be truly missed by all of us. RIP

“Alright. Just let me think. Just let me think.”

I don’t know how many times I’ve seen this man play, but I do that my favorite concert was his when this was still his newest album.

I realized I haven’t listened to this one in quite a while and figured it was high time it spins again!

I was turning off lights to go to bed and glanced at my record collection. That lamp has just been left on all week, and right now I’m not mad. by @regularvinyl

It has been a minute since I’ve listened to this album so I’m revisiting it this morning. The Early November is easily a top 10 band for me. In 2024 this album was at the top of my favorite releases list.

I fell hard for this album as soon as I heard it. I picked this copy up in 2006 for nothing and it was the first time I bought a record that I already had on cd.

This is an original pressing on two records with alternate cover art. The track listing falls out of order at the end to make space for MFEO Part 1&2. I loved how quirky it was!

It has been 51 years and we still can’t agree what Mary’s dress does!

This is easily a top ten album for me. This landed as Springsteen’s career was hanging in the balance and the rest is history.

What’s an album you wish you could listen to for the first time again?

Topping that list for me is Rancid “…And Out Come The Wolves”. This album appeared in my life the summer between 7th and 8th grade. I was 13 and was rejecting my parents’ music, hated the country music that played most day on my bus. I didn’t know who I wanted to be or what I liked in general. This album was two years old at that point and took my hand and said “it’s okay just listen to punk.”

My taste has grown since then, but punk is still my preferred genre. I also accepted that the classic rock I grew up on is pretty great. Even some of those country songs are bangers.

Who knows what would have happened, but I owe a lot of who I turned out to be on this record.

I’m a huge The Early November fan and this happens to be the 20th birthday of my favorite TEN album! The Mother The Mechanic and The Path shows every side of the band in one release. The Mother is soft and introspective! The Mechanic brings the rock while jeeping the heart, and The Path dives into struggles with mental health and growing up.
